Seems to be a lot of price lowering to get sales going on on the Discord chat

I recently was introduced to Great Ape Society - they seem to be fairly priced. Some are sub 700$ usd. They were 150-300$ three days ago. So the floor price keeps rising would be cool to see this project get to the same recognizable as it’s other ape counterparts like the mutant apes or the bored apes.

Not trying to be argumentative. But what makes them great? I’m trying to understand all the NTF pieces and ‘projects’ out there. But they all seem pretty similar in a creation, image etc. I can’t seem to tell anything apart

NFT Art , by GMA on Sept 4, 2021 23:59:16 GMT 1, Just got my first NFT, that was quite an experience, from talking on discord to waiting for the drop and minting. Even looked at doing it directly through the smart contract on etherscan, which just threw me completely. I grabbed some panda's from Panda Dynasty. The art is pretty cool too.
Around half have been minted so far, project appears to be solid but you can never know I guess. But happy to have dipped my toes in.

This is what I’m struggling with. There are so many variations of the same concept so what makes one better than the other? Does it all come down to hype?

I work in a small team for a large charity exploring how the blockchain can be used to track and certify sustainable and ethical supply chains (goods, funding, movement of people, other stuff). Previously I worked for shopify in the research team, and also did a painful six months at coinbase. Sounds like great work. Like preventing child labour by showing the full supply chain?
But when you're in crypto that deep, you should have been on this, dude.

Get 5,000 folks on Discord and Telegram and start shouting "to the MOOOOON!!!!" every 3 minutes.....
Some have utility, but most are just pure speculation and hype.
But as far as NFT's and metaverses are concerned ; You have seen nothing yet.
In 5 years people will have an avatar and go to work as such in a metaverse workspace. Not if you are plumber. Obviously. But for office work. Most certainly.
You can buy land, build a house. And hang your Damian NFT on the wall.....

Download the VeVe Collectibles app. They have 100+ official licences from Marvel, DC Comics, Star Trek, NFL players, Frank Kozic etc.... And many more to come. Chief Licences is Al Kahn, who brought Pokémon to USA and made billions.
You can buy NFT's without getting into crypto knee deep. I've bought Digital comic books for $7 and sold them the next week for $1200. (It's $2700 now.... go figure.....)
And if you want to do some crypto - they have OMI coin. (NFA - DYODD)

I’m trying to understand all the NTF pieces and ‘projects’ out there. But they all seem pretty similar in a creation, image etc. I can’t seem to tell anything apart The best way I can think to parallel it would be, think opening packs or trading baseball cards, Pokémon cards, dunny toys, etc…. Also young people now days have an obsession with the “blind box “ phenomenon. Endlessly buying and a opening things in hopes of finding a RARE or more valuable version of an otherwise useless and pointless item. People literally sit and watch videos of other people opening these “blind boxes” just the get a bit of the feeling of doing it themselves.
I guess it’s all no different than sitting down at a slot machine in a Casio, maybe blackjack is a better example. There is some strategy involved in both ventures. But it’s essentially the rush of that moment when you feel you’ve “won” something. This feeds the addiction to want it again, and again, and again.
