Chief Licences is Al Kahn, who brought Pokémon to USA and made billions. You can buy NFT's without getting into crypto knee deep. I've bought Digital comic books for $7 and sold them the next week for $1200. (It's $2700 now.... go figure.....) And if you want to do some crypto - they have OMI coin. (NFA - DYODD)

Even looked at doing it directly through the smart contract on etherscan, which just threw me completely. I grabbed some panda's from Panda Dynasty. The art is pretty cool too.  Around half have been minted so far, project appears to be solid but you can never know I guess. But happy to have dipped my toes in. This, and the bored ape coverage, sent me on a bit of a wormhole this week - trying to learn more about NFTs and work out which would be good to buy into. I was amazed at how many variants of animal crews had already popped up, and couldn’t quite believe the cult like chats on Discord. People talking with the same passion as life long football fans about a collection of lions, dinosaurs or pandas. The margin between success and failure also seems really small - with sorry scenes on the Turtle Squad group, as only 200 or so of their initial offering was purchased. Fascinating to watch. I’ll try and dip my toe in it soon

It reminds of the old mIRC days. The community is really great, pretty surreal to see how everyone pulls together, like you say, a bit like football fans, over these nft's, never experienced anything quite like it, except maybe for the old rave days... but that was in person. Really quite inspiring.

Although I struggle to see why the value of a toke should be circa £1k even at this early stage, the sheer number of active buyers on OS is far beyond any conventional art marketplace.
