NFT Art , by dimonimoni on Dec 10, 2021 13:19:55 GMT 1, Absolutely! By any means I mean that NFTs are not about art at all. What I mean is that the main reason collectors buy NFTs is as an investment. In the traditional art market, the type of clients is more diverse. Some collect because they want to build a collection of a certain period/style/concept... others because they want to hang it and have it there forever, and then, of course there is a group of collectors that buy to speculate (which is totally alright, don't get me wrong) In the NFT world, at least until now, the tendency of the collectors follows the tendency of the crypto currencies. Which is store of value and speculation.
I personally have a different approach (more to build a collection based on a particular concept), but so far the "sad" reallity is that there is not so much diversification of collectors, and this forces the artists to follow certain patterns (which at the same time narrows even more the type of collectors)
Just an observation though...

NFT Art , by eyectopus on Dec 15, 2021 11:50:56 GMT 1, about that Pak's Merge release: As soon as you learn that NFTs aren't about the art, it makes a lot more sense. I got a buncha mass also. With that said, Fairey is releasing one soon.
The Fairey NFT is one that interests me. I joined the Discord a few days ago and tried for the presale. The Discord chat so far is full of people asking the same questions over and over which has meant that a lot of bot messages have been needed to cut down on the questions.
The physical verify channel is interesting, there are some nice pieces posted, but a lot trying their luck with stickers, copies etc. Also some very poorly handled prints being pulled out of tubes and folders to get verified.

.1 is a no brainer, just not sure how they will perform. Will also be interesting if the characteristics collectors have preferred over the years will carry over.

I am interested in seeing that also. It will depend on how many are fans of the existing artwork vs new people coming from the NFT side I assume. The rarity will be interesting also to see what characteristics or main images are in the collection.

NFT Art , by chomsky on Dec 17, 2021 17:59:11 GMT 1, Hi ! I did manage to get a spot to mine Obey's NFT tonight, but I never did that. At the moment, I only have a few NFT from Heni, which I bought by card. How to add ETH to Metamask? Directly or through another platform? What are the things to know about gas fees? Any other advice for a beginner? If someone could help me step by step I would be very grateful!! Thanks in advance for your help

Your MetaMask wallet has an address. You can buy ETH on an exchange like Coinbase or similar. Then you withdraw or send the ETH to that wallet address. Each time you transfer you pay a little bit of your funds (can be $15) in gas or fees - it’ll tell you beforehand.

NFT Art , by Morfx on Dec 19, 2021 12:33:44 GMT 1, I'm not in the NFT world and won't be something I invest in.
I have always bought stuff I like which can appreciate in value, NFT's can also..
But I genuinely don't see where the value lies? Are NFT's just being bought to be re-sold on or do people genuinely have plans to use/display them?

I do have plans to get a display and put up some Pak pieces and my Hirst’s at home, but I also remember buying my parents a digital photo frame on Amazon about 15 years ago which they binned after 18 months. I don’t know what the future holds but I see no harm in having a go at embracing it.

NFT Art , by aberdoom on Dec 19, 2021 15:38:44 GMT 1, I don't think the art NFT world will be as big as the gaming NFT side of things. I've used Rarible and Opensea and got into a few discord groups that have been posted in here and it's changed my view on NFTs. I thought it was all about the art to begin with.
Look at gaming and play to earn concept. You own the in game assets and essentially it's a new digital economy. I think the gaming side will be huge.
Art? Waste of time. I mean putting an NFT on a digital photo frame? Or getting a print and splitting it into 1000 pieces? Don't see it myself. But I maybe wrong.
Certainly a very interesting topic! Along with Crypto and Blockchain, it's certainly worthwhile having a read about it.

Totally agree. NFTs are about utility not art. I also agree about p2e gaming NFTs being huge. I hold a number of gaming NFTs already and plan on getting more over the next year. Fashion NFTs are going to be a big trend too in my opinion.

My kids are a bit young for video games at present but talking to friends their kids getting points/cards to buy things on Fortnite or FIFA? This is just the next step.
Have a look at NiftyVille. It's basically Sims on steroids. We are basically transforming into the sim in our digital world. The whole passive income is being pushed heavily. Buy NFT tokens for staking etc. Honestly I see the gaming world massive. The rest like you say will be a fad and a way to spend crypto and launder money.
All very interesting. I was trying to get into art NFT, but I just see it as a waste of time. I like the thought behind it where an artist can continually profit by resales. Imagine how rich Banksy would be! A print, drawing, painting etc is all lost in digital form for me.
I like the Blockchain side of things. I was told about OriginTrail crypto last month and certainly a project that's interesting and worthy of a look. It does at yes feel like crypto/NFT is a huge scam tho, and one morning we will wake up to the news it was all just a social experiment ha ha
