I would like to have your opinion about a recent online sale made by the stowe gallery for the artist Paco Pomet. Like many others I imagine, I like the piece "International" and was interested in this NFT sale because this work was included.
A date for the sale was announced on the website of this gallery. It turned out that all the NFTs for this piece were actually sold a week in advance. (Obviously the NfT's were already being offered for resale, significantly more expensive, before the official sale even started)
I'm trying to understand the logic but it seems to me this is extremely shady and not transparent from this gallery. I would like to know what you think about this practice, is it common, and especially to what extent is the artist aware of / complicit in this.
Here again, forgive the naivety of these questions, but very concretely I need an answer before looking for another Pomet.

It was just sold out during presale with this one. Itโs not hard to get on Stoweโs presale list, I suspect that anyone who has purchased from them had a chance. Thousands of emails for 100 prints that were of a popular image, Iโm not surprised it sold out before general sale.

The short term aim is to make myself some money on the primary market. The long term aim is to boost the income of the crypto platforms hosting the initial - plus any future - transactions of the NFT squared.
The price of will be reflected in the ease with which you can pay for it versus the difficulty with which you will be able enjoy it before you realise it has no long term - if indeed any - value other than to say that you own one.

It will be interesting to follow. This drop has been under the radar for most. It is the very first project by Henka with limited PR. As I wrote, Xu Bing is huge in Asia. Given the edition size of 150 where all are unique and combined tells a poetry, it should be attractive for Asian/Chinese NFT sharks. Of course, I might be wrong!

Rule number one, when you enter a discord group, always turn off the possibility that group members can send you direct message. There are always a a lot of bots in big projects that send direct messages with links where you can connect your MetaMask for then to drain it. So much scam going on. Joining the discord is safe, it is the links you potentially click from direct messages that can cause problems

Nothing on that discord or link will empty your wallet. Turn DMs off so you don't get spam messages. That's all.

Sign up to every gallery/print house/artist mailing list you can if you like what they do. I had never bought from Stowe before but was on their mailing list and therefore was able to buy on pre-sale.
(To be honest, that came as a surprise as they had said no presales and if, for example, I'd had no internet for a day, I'd have missed out and been pretty pissed off too!)

I have posted about this project before, but there is an update: All holders will get a uniqe signed high-quality print of their NFT. So if you buy one now on opensea, you will secure a signed print of the NFT you buy. His previous lightbulb man prints sells for 2k+ USD and they are not unique.
