A couple of months ago my eldest son, who was living with me at the time, caught it. His lady friend was visiting. She caught it too. Neither had been going to clubs or pubs or the like. Both are in their early 20’s, and fortunately for them had only flu like symptoms.
I did not catch it. I have no doubt that being double vaccinated contributed hugely to this. That, and the swift isolation measures we put in place.
It was nerve wracking and exhausting though.

For those that doubt vaccines, who knows everything, but I can say that almost everyone I know has been vaccinated. I don’t know anyone who had anything but the mildest of side effects. On the other hand, I do know quite a few people who lost a loved one or colleague before vaccinations were common.

All seems very loving and sensible. Sensitively handled.

Weird thing for me is the different reactions that the differing vaccines have produced. All of my circle in the U.K. have had the AZ vaccine; all felt crap for 24 hours after the 1st, then nothing at all after the second. Team that I work with in the US all had the Moderna; fine with the first jab, then wiped out for a couple of days with the second. They vaccines are of course different formulations, but it’s odd that we all had such differing reactions, yet such similar ones within the same vaccine cohort. Such an odd illness!

I signed up as a vaccinator in the first draft of volunteers. I began vaccinating in February and since then have vaxed close to 1000 people, young and old. I was double vaxed relatively early due to potential exposure and had a nasty kick from my first AZ but nothing with my second. That seems to be standard as does the reverse with Pfizer.

It’s been an amazing experience and I’ve been able to vaccinate my wife, my brother, many of my friends and at least one member of this esteemed forum.

I intend to continue to administer the booster shots incoming as I feel that vaccinations are clearly the way out of this. That said, those who don’t want to be vaccinated- fair enough.

Very possible, but not any news about that.

I received the Moderna Booster last week.
1st shot in January I had a soar arm and nothing else
2nd shot in February I had a soar arm and then 10 hours after the shot I had a high fever, chills, dizziness and thought I was going to die. The strange feeling lasted about 3 hours.
3rd shot aka the Booster I had a soar arm and nothing else.
I am immunocompromised with Penphigus.

If only they put in effort into finding a solution to fight covid instead of wasting resources trying to discredit the vaccine.

I was in the pharmacy last week and no one was in line to take the jab and they said it'd be open to everyone soon enough, so I took my third Pfz shot. I haven't noticed anything with any of the shots, not so much as a sore arm. When I got home and mentioned it to me lady, she went down and did the same thing for a third hit of the ModeRna vax. She had a rough next day (and had with her second dose as well).

My opinion is that any is better than none. While Moderna has the most side effects, if I'm not mistaken, it is a bit more effective. I stuck with Pfizer because its a competent bio-tech with a long history (and I have friends that work there). I'm not as familiar with Moderna as a company. AZ is a little to tech-bro for my taste. At the end of the day, it is all pretty much the same stuff and designed to cause a reaction from your body so that it catalogs how to react when it is exposed to the virus.

If you want to take the booster early, they aren't asking the what or why you need it now, you can say you suffer from migraines or allergies if they were to ask, and that is good enough for them (but, no one asks).

I heard there is evidence that a mix of vaccines offer better protection, but it's not policy that they'll give you a different one (in the uk). I've had a booster jab in the UK and it was pfizer the same as the first two.
