There is a more artisanal quality with screenprints, but only if it's done properly by Goldmark Atelier, Popink!, Brand X, and Pace. The ones from Waluso are shocking quality. Shocking bad? I have a Fridriks inkjet from Avant.ย One of the nicest prints I have seen.
Re:Walusu - Instead of adding another screen to add another shade, they turn it into dots. Ends up looking like a newspaper.
They blow up smooth digital images so the edges become rough, like zooming in ms paint with the squared pixels. You just have to have one in hand to tell.
Their customer service is on point. Products however, it depends which ones you get.

Thank-you for sharing that news about Josรฉ. It has really shocked how ill he was. And I feel compelled to say a few words about a personal experience I had with him.
I did all the graphic design for Elms Lesters Gallery and I designed Josรฉ's book Adaptation/Translation for his show at Elms Lesters. Josรฉ and I spent a week together on the book and we had a blast. I've not laughed so much with a 'client' before. He was sincere, humble and great fun. His kind heartedness was also matched by his laser focus, but at the same time he didn't take himself too seriously. And to be honest he worked harder than any artist I'd met, so much so that he had to go and visit a doctor as his hand had cramped-up due to too much painting. He was also on an upwards trajectory of becoming very successful and shared that exciting, dizzying feeling with everyone.
He told me how he would get his pigments mixed by an old Chinese guy in New York for his watercolours, and I introduced him to different papers stocks and special inks, also to actually go to the printer and play with the colours on the press, which I saw he later did regularly with his books. He loved the process of inks and printing and got very involved with that.
We synchronised on the book design and the design process was very smooth, in a funny way the book designed itself. He sat next to me drawing burners, playing hip hop, telling me about painting with Kaze 2 and New York graffiti. He also showed me photos of some of his spraycan burners which were unbelievably good!
I have very fond memories of that week, and was sad to see him go! Years later he was very enthusiastic and supportive when I had my book published about my graphic design for the Elms Lesters Gallery, he hadn't changed.
A special man with exceptional talent. I wish you all the best for a speedy recovery my friend.

And even when he was in the hospital, we were still texting about the project, and then I stopped hearing back, and I got really worried as I couldnโt get a hold of him. Then I heard heโd gone into a coma, and he was that way for 3 months. It was a really worrying time.
Amazingly heโs made it through and is now back on his feet. So we started thinking about ways to support his recovery with all of the proceeds going to Josรฉ. This project is the output, a high-quality edition available through a timed launch that gives unique access to his work at a much lower price point than you would usually get - meaning many more people can own a Josรฉ Parlรก edition.

He got COVID and yes it was though time but he is fighter and luckily he is back but as everybody will understand 3 months in coma is really hard and he got a long road of recovery but he is strong! |
