The CEO of Bonhams auction house was one of the first to shout “boycott Phillips auction house” Are people really this short sighted?

(especially in Russia) a very rich business leader with a great deal of political influence. I think we all know what the word 'oligarch' means. But congratulations on using an online dictionary. Congratulations on your understanding of what an oligarch is. Commiserations on your complete ignorance of what an oligarch, like Leonid Friedland and Leonid Strunin, does.

Phillips' Russian owners, Leonid Friedland and Leonid Strunin, haven't said a word to defend Ukraine or condemn the actions of Russia. The company's English CEO made those statements. To be clear, the parent company is based in Moscow.

Commiserations on your complete ignorance of what an oligarch, like Leonid Friedland and Leonid Strunin, does. You assume too much. Please provide some evidence of what these oligarchs are doing related to Putin and the war in Ukraine. Although at least I got a little chuckle out of your use of the word "like..." I can't understand why you find human suffering so amusing. That says a lot about you. For evidence, see my posts above about the parent company, based in Moscow - who do you think funds the Russian govt?

A prominent Russian owned company speaks up in support of Ukraine and makes a large donation to back it up, this is what puts pressure on Putin. If the owners were supporters of Putin they would not allow this.
You can’t just blindly hate on all companies with Russian ties. You need to look what steps the company is taking to separate themselves from Putin. Phillips has done this publicly.

The OP raises an important and well thought out issue, backed up by accurate information.
Banksy would be ashamed.

Will be over $100k. If you have one or more, keep them. You can spend a long time studying the detail.
