Phillips Art Auctions • New York, Hong Kong & London, by Quinnster on Jun 23, 2014 19:38:44 GMT 1, I haven't seen this piece before thats coming to auction at Phillips on 3 July, apparently is unique on plywood from Santas Ghetto. Has an estimate of £50k-£70k. So thats now 5 pretty high end pieces on offer at auction on the 2-3 July. I shall be interested to see what they all fetch. So far my favorite is the barcode canvas. www.phillips.com/detail/BANKSY/UK010514/177 Iv got some stickers of the same image from POW back in the day.... I'm sure they were attributed to another artist who I have forgotten.

He, I believe, is responsible for much of the wit & wisdom inside Banksy's books. These pieces were later revealed to be a collaboration with Banksy.

Munnery was also a right miserable git in real life, met him a couple times, always came over as a total tosspot prima donna. He worked the newcastle brown comedy circuit for a while in the mid 90s, most of the comedians were excellent and usually pleasant to work with, we used to dread working with munnery, whilst very funny on stage ( in his own way), would flounce about and sulk like a spoilt teen. Then again, I also thought he'd probably be one of the ones to make it big.

I'd rather have a mobstr canvas of a play on words than that.

Didn't the googly eyes Rembrandt Banksy fetch £400k, that was a couple of plastic eyes glued to someone else's painting. I suspect this took more time and its rather witty. Its growing on me, i'd love to have it on the bathroom wall.

Phillips Art Auctions • New York, Hong Kong & London, by Unica on Jun 24, 2014 3:55:20 GMT 1, Yet another mega Banksy piece at auction on 2 July, this is the 6 significant piece to go under the hammer over a 2 day Banksy binge early next month. The last sculpture of this size called "Happy Shopper" was sold by Phillips for £500k earlier this year. The estimate is £200k-£300k.
www.phillips.com/detail/BANKSY/UK010414/11
Anybody know where all these pieces are coming from? Are they being released by Pest Control or are they being released by collectors? Or is this a well know piece?

Will there be VAT and ARR on top of the £87k? or is that included in the published price. If so is it VAT on the whole amount or just on the buyers premium. I've never been able to understand what the actual price would be. Could someone please explain.

Est was $200/$300k. Sold for $550K hammer ($605k with the fees). I think in £, that's roughly 280k hammer, 308 with fees.
