Who is Banksy?, by Lord Lucas Roham on Jan 25, 2022 18:48:11 GMT 1, I always find it a shame when the forum goes down this route
Why? It's hardly a secret is it? Google brings up any number of images. I'd wager most in the contemporary art circuit know exactly who (team) Banksy are / is.

Who is Banksy?, by Lroy on Jan 26, 2022 17:06:22 GMT 1, I always find it a shame when the forum goes down this route I agree Romulus...
But, actually, tell me what can we talk about ? NFTs ?Edgar Plans ? Hirst and Noir ? Sales thread ?
Even Mason Storm versus 2, has not a lot of enthusiasm on here these days... Maybe some wanted a bit of joke ( this is not really ) under these grey skies full of clouds and blablabla around this virus. Anyway, it is Funny ? ( I know your anwer ;-D ) Just talking you see

Who is Banksy?, by Lroy on Jan 27, 2022 15:20:53 GMT 1, Hey Lroy, I stayed away from suggesting the talk about Banksy's indentity should be removed or banned, as people can talk about what they want. But yeah, I think it's a shame that a forum that has Banksy as its unofficial spiritual leader would see it necessary to try and go against his wishes. And who knows what the motivation of the op is? It may be curiosity, or it could be a journalist trying to get pictures that are hard to find via search, but easy to source via a knowledgable community. But in answer to your other point, yeah, as I've previously said, the print scene that we all love has dried up massively in my point of view. We could do with some exciting releases to get us going again. Where are the newcomers to light up the scene? Where are the affordable releases from the legends? I hope you're keeping well Thank you for your kind message !
Of course, you are right about ( journalists etc - anyway I Have unoffcial pics of ... or .. etc , but I won(t never shared them ) ...
And anyway, what do you see ? a face.
With these reductive, somewhat silly ( gossip ) research on the face, we miss the essential, which moreover must be fascinating: the Banksy phenomenon: where, when and why did he create such and such a work, which had the idea of โโDismaland and the WOH, which thus also fleshed them out, fed them, etc. His relations with the other artists too (Pins, Hirst, Eine, Lush Sux etc.).
The day before yesterday with a friend who is looking for prints and/or a site that tells the story of King Robbo's life, I took a certain pleasure in giving him sites, photos (I was, am I still? yes, with Choci Roc), to bring together the two artists, their works, and the escapades of Team Robbo - which, with Banksy, make one think of warming up before a wrestling match - nothing serious in fact), and that made me to dive back into one of the best periods of street-art (for me since I knew it at that time), 2011 after Exit - which made me want to know more about this graffiti or street- art, given that the punk, after punk and creative milieu, etc., had disappeared in favor of the excessive commercialization of hip-hop, r'nb (sic), big machines, from Spotify to Deezer...
Where are the works now? Touch, smell, appearance, sight, sound etc... of musical or pictorial works? nowhere: in dematerialized music and to download, in pieces of NFTs videos etc etc ... The spot, the framing, the support are essential in everything! A painting on wood will have a completely different look, than that on a wall, a canvas, a sketch on a sheet of paper...
Hey, why not a thread on the drafts of banksy or other artists? Quid de Tox also... The adventures of POW must be magnificent too, like Banksy's story which is magical! How did he come to be, a stencil artist - the stencil? the unloved of classical and modern painting - has he come to become one of the number one artists?
And His relationship also with Contemporary art (what a guy! He managed to introduce us to Dismaland extraordinary artists like the creator of Bif Rig Jig ...)? His real thoughts on museums right now? Will we know one day? Never I think, even in 1000 years, Banksy is immortal and will last as long as he and / or his rebel aides decide, before putting, perhaps, overnight, the key under the door, like POW .. Another great artistic mark, of factory.
Do we know everything about Leonardo da Vinci, the Mona Lisa? ... Anyway, whoever Banksy or whoever it is, I can't see him writing his biography and revealing everything about this secrecy, this tale for (big and small) children, which we never tire of... telling...
So his face? Phew, we don't care.. Le vrai visage de Banksy, c'est celui-ci : Big Rig Jig.. A truck with two face, or two trucks with one face, showing to the people, the popular one, in the context of a faigrounds, art and... truck ( trucks ? )
I am ok, thanks, I try, sorry for this long message.

Hi, new to the forum and enjoy the discussions and opinions, obviously will never be able to afford a Banksy due to 25 years in the Paras, but have been into graffiti since school in the 80โs and the hip hop scene. Itโs defo interesting how heโs evolved from doodling on classmates school books to the extent it is today. I suppose when at school and youโre not one of the cool kids you find your own niche. With hindsight it probably wasnโt a good choice for my mates mum to throw away his old school books.

My friend used to travel in the bus to school with him, both werenโt part of the cool kids set up. Robin with his hair lip, non mainstream taste in music and odd dress sense to match, but he seems to have done ok, not bad for a buckshee Brizzle lad.

Robin with his hair lip, non mainstream taste in music and odd dress sense to match, but he seems to have done ok, not bad for a buckshee Brizzle lad. He reminds me of a kid in some of my classes in school in the east end. Bit of a loner and would spend all his time in and out of class drawing in his text books. Did graffiti text and had a thing about drawing things from battle of the planets cartoon. He was more into tagging than art. Went down a bad path and died in his early 40's just a few years older than banksy.

Who is Banksy?, by kdrlly on Aug 27, 2022 20:49:50 GMT 1, I think we all had people at school who weren't part of the cool kid group, sadly some go one way, some go the other. I doubt that if Banksy was finishing school today what with the cruel way social media can be he'd of probably never existed.

Who is Banksy?, by Brice on Aug 28, 2022 0:01:19 GMT 1, Thank you for your kind message !
A truck with two face, or two trucks with one face, showing to the people, the popular one, in the context of a faigrounds, art and... truck ( trucks ? )
I am ok, thanks, I try, sorry for this long message.
and limit Lroy to fifteen words, isn't that possible ? (I'm teasing you Lroy, I know you have a sense of humor )

Exactly, heโs the most known anonymous person ever. If he keeps up his charade thatโs up to him, itโs all a bit Scooby Doo now. Is it Mr Johnson from the haunted amusement arcade? No.. itโs just plain old Robin from Bristol.

Who is Banksy?, by moron on Oct 4, 2022 11:42:26 GMT 1, Banksy applied for and got an Arts Council UK grant years ago. As the Arts Council is public funded. There should be a record available to the public showing how much money Banksy was given for which project and under what name too.
Website such as www.whatdotheyknow.com/ is where people submit freedom of informatrion requests.
Of course one could always provoke Banksy into taking legal action against one. Which means that Banksy would have to disclose his actual identity and existence.
The Lazinc image of Banksy on his old website shows Banksy holding a canvas and Banksy's face pixelated in order to hide it.
This is the original image which is on the Shutterstock site showing Banksy's face.
""" Stock Image ID: 571228a
GRAFFITI ARTIST BANKSY WITH A TYPICALLY IRONIC SELF PORTRAIT, SHOREDITCH, LONDON, BRITAIN - NOV 2005 'Banksy' as himself, probable real name Robin Banks, or Robin Gunningham from Bristol """ Late art critic Brian Sewell years ago stated that Banksy's real name was Robin Banks.
Does it look like the same guy that was in Jamaica called Robin Gunningham?
The guy in the Lazinc, Shutterstock photo, does look a lot like the Banksy or Banxy hip hop dancer in this article.
