Damien Hirst H10 • The Empresses, by Dice on Jan 31, 2022 8:38:23 GMT 1, I notice these are laminated giclee prints like the cherry blossoms and nhs prints as opposed to Diasec-mounted Giclée prints as all the non-timed heni editions are. Anyone have both and can see any difference?

Damien Hirst H10 • The Empresses, by Lord Lucas Roham on Jan 31, 2022 10:14:53 GMT 1, Someone who has redeemed the physical currency must be able to confirm what additional charges they had to pay. I'm sure there are a few people on here who have done that. I redeemed my currency (collected it from Claridges) and can confirm, like the others have said, there were no additional charges/tax to pay. Thanks for confirming, I knew this to be the case but it's good to get evidence.

I don't think you can say the same for any living artist... Stik, OS Gemeos or any artist that don't release prints every couple of months I would be more inclined to pay secondary market prices because I know that the likelihood of being able to score a release at cost in the next few years is going to be slim.

If the prints are only fetching a certain price why would you trade / pay more for the nft if you intend or have to swap for the print at some point ?? For the question "why would trade/pay more for the NFT". I'm not sure that they will but the NFT offers access to both the NFT and physical worlds. The physical doesn't. Some might also prefer to buy the NFT then deal with HENI to get the physical rather than by a physical from ebay or a forum.
Next question - at 3500 USD will there be more NFT sales or more physical sales? I would have thought NFT sales due to the flexibility but perhaps not?

I think it’s more likely that people will potentially pay more for physicals than NFTs

If you intend to sell the work on within the 3 year window it makes much more sense for you the seller, and the buyer to deal in the NFT deed.
This would ensure that people aren’t paying multiple shipping charges, worrying about condition, trusting the seller / buyer etc..
Whoever has the deed in their wallet claims ownership of the physical.

Personally while I now find purchasing NFT’s to be a pretty straightforward and simple process, the learning curve was quite steep and I imagine most Hirst collectors won’t want to be bothered with it.

What happens if the physical artwork is damaged, lost or destroyed? What value does the NFT have then?

Whoever has the deed in their wallet claims ownership of the physical. So a COA registered in someone's crypto wallet. What happens if the physical artwork is damaged, lost or destroyed? What value does the NFT have then? Well, it’s not exactly a “COA” as you don’t keep it once you have exchanged the NFT for the physical piece.
It’s a Deed issued in NFT form that you exchange for the physical work only with Heni. Once you complete the exchange with Heni, the Deed it is destroyed and a physical work is created in its place. The NFT is now gone and you get shipped physical piece of art from Heni. The NFT Deed ONLY exists to enable ease of trading.
At that point the NFT is gone and no longer part of the equation.
