NFTs and art are not the same. NFTs are the tech, they have multiple uses. In this case as a digital receipt that can be traded or redeemed. It’s still an NFT

Damien Hirst H10 • The Empresses, by Schrödinger's Chat on Jan 30, 2022 20:10:30 GMT 1, They are *not* NFTs. That is why Heni are not calling them NFTs. I give up. You are just flat out wrong. Heni is 100% calling them NFT’s. They issue you an NFT on the blockchain. From Heni : “These are utility NFTs provided by HENI which serve the specific purpose of delaying receipt of the physical and enabling ease of trading. There are no additional utilities or perks associated with this type of NFT”. But it’s an NFT no matter how you slice it.
But it sounds like after 3 years you would be just be left with a token on the blockchain. What would be the value of that? I haven't seen it say that you get a high quality downloadable image of the print or anything like that. With The Currency you have an extremely high quality image front and back, which you can print how you wish. The great expe tations also provided a high quality downloadable image.

That’s exactly right. You get a little video of it with the edition number you were allocated. But in this scene people trade everything, frogs and apes etc…

Correct on all counts.
As to the value of the NFT once no longer redeemable for an artwork, I would guess the value would be close to nothing as it’s essentially a receipt
You are buying an Art future here and betting on the value to increase more than the 5% that Heni will charge to trade it.

They have a hanging rail on the back. Personally I think they need framing - ideally with decent glass to protect them (museum if you can afford it) but you can just stick them on the wall if you want.

I’ve seen glitter prints hung without frames but I worry about deterioration I guess Don’t want to dust the glitter off

Surely this should be about the art not, money money future, oh....I fu**Ed up If you like it, buy it! Investment .... NO Why is this question such an “either or” around this place. We can all actually buy art we like AND make a sensible choice not buy a depreciating asset. You can have a deep appreciation for art AND also enjoy making money to actually purchase the art you want.
Hirst is making money, Heni is making money , but the last asshole to buy the thing has to be the one “only in it for the art”? Gimme a break.

I redeemed my currency (collected it from Claridges) and can confirm, like the others have said, there were no additional charges/tax to pay.
