Damien Hirst H10 โข The Empresses, by Happy Shopper on Jan 31, 2022 15:23:27 GMT 1, Seems to be a large number of the NFT community buying these without fully understanding that it's simply an NFT deed. People copping these thinking it's going to be The Currency #2. It's not. Judging by the number of questions I don't think they've made it clear enough what the difference is, and what will happen once the 3 years is up.
Does the Heni Market Place for them disappear, with all the sales stats, etc? Link to an image of the Deed disappears? They can't delete or take it from your wallet, but what is the thought for what happens next?

Damien Hirst H10 โข The Empresses, by kfroms on Jan 31, 2022 15:35:27 GMT 1, It's interesting that they say "due to high demand". ย Previous Hirst timed editions have run in to 1,000 plus so these must already be well over that amount. ย
Heni has confirmed several times that this is fake.
No restrictions. None. Nada. Null.

Damien Hirst H10 โข The Empresses, by Wearology on Jan 31, 2022 15:47:40 GMT 1, I was wondering how people make their decision of which one to buy. I'm going for number 4 because I think it has that 'classic Hirst' look about it. But I'm also tempted by number 2 as I think that is the most successful in a square format. I hate number 5 because I dislike the spiral shape but I also think it looks a bit odd. It's as if it has been chopped off round the edges. The decision people make is very easy. Which one can I flip and make the most money on. Why else would this thread get so much attention. Since people made money on his last drop promoting the Hirst's owned NFT Platform, they are going back to the well a second time. Hopefully you are more successful on your flipping then the Interscope debacle and the Edgar Plans abomination.

From HENI: If you fail to redeem the HENI Editions NFT Deed for the physical work before 10am ET February 5th 2025, you will lose your rights to the physical piece and HENI will be free to dispose of it however it wants (including not completing the work).
You can keep the NFT after the redemption date, but the purpose of these NFTs is to delay delivery and enable trading. They are a different category of NFTs to our artist drop NFTs. At the end of the three year redemption window, it will no longer be possible to redeem the NFT for the physical artwork.

Btw, these are beautiful. Wish I had a spare 2.5k lying around...
Surely this makes the earlier releases: fruitful/forever and the NHS/hearts look like a snip now.

I read it that after 3 years you either apply for the Real or You Lose the lot as the NFT dissolves into the ether.
The NFT is a receipt or proof of ownership that You can deal in over the 3 years, then who ever holds them claims the real?
With the Currency You get to either keep the Real or the NFT

What's the difference between these and the end of The Currency swap period? On the face of it they seem the same, but HENI are saying they're not... but not saying how they're different. They are definitely not the same. The biggest differences between these and the Currency at the end of the swap period is:
Each of The Currency NFTs still remain unique and uniquely titled artworks in NFT form. Being a piece of art is its purpose. It will be traded on as such through Heni and other platforms such as OpenSea and will still hold an (unknown at this point) value as unique individual artworks. Heni has shared that they will in all likelihood continue to offer utility such as (higher chance of getting future drops as a DeFi power user, or the recent swag and Great Expectations airdrops as examples). There is a benefit of holding this type of NFT.
The Empress Deed NFT offers and will offer NO future utility beyond a one time redemption. They are not considered unique individual works of art. They exist solely to be redemption tickets for a physical piece and for making it easier to trade in the 3 year window. You can keep the NFT in your wallet in perpetuity if you choose not to exchange it but it is unlikely to offer any value in return other than a nagging reminder of the $3500 you wasted by not selling or redeeming before time expired. At this point just think of it as a wristband or ticket stub to a show you paid for but didnโt go to.
It wonโt evaporate, self destruct, or anything else unless you take action to move it on from your wallet. But it also wonโt serve much purpose as itโs utility will have expired.
Hope that helps.

A bit of an experiment for me and worse case i'll just convert it and have a DH piece for the wall. Heni and DH are smashing the market though, amount of $ they'll make off this will be insane. What do you mean, "worse case"? It's the only case. If you keep the NFT deed, it expires and you are left with nothing. What did I mean.... Maybe I thought of it like a digital wolf of wall street scenario and I'll be drinking champers after my NFT rises and then drinking my sorrow as it falls dramatically. But hey I still get a DH at the end of it.
This afternoon drinking is really catching up with me

They are definitely not the same...... Isn't this the same as a lot of editioned NFTs though? No "utility", not unique, and just a jpeg attached to link!
You can say it's not an artwork like The Currency, and maybe it's not so high res, but when has that ever stopped an NFT being traded and reaching silly amounts !? At the ed of the day (or the 3 years), if it can be traded, and has a perceived value (which is all most NFTs can claim), what's the substantial difference?
(Just seems a bit of grey area)
It's what happens after the 3 years to the NFT that isn't clear. What's the difference between these and the end of The Currency swap period? On the face of it they seem the same, but HENI are saying they're not... but not saying how they're different. They are definitely not the same...... The Empress Deed NFT offers and will offer NO future utility beyond a one time redemption. They are not considered unique individual works of art. Damien Hirst H10 โข The Empresses, by Riotcops on Jan 31, 2022 18:45:45 GMT 1, I'm not sure why all the confusion.
The NFT is a ticket to the Super Bowl. You can use it to actually go to the Super Bowl yourself, or you can trade it or sell it for whatever amount someone is willing to pay up until game day.
If you choose not to attend the superbowl and you did not sell the ticket to the superbowl, you are left with a worthless piece of paper (or digital token).

(Just seems a bit of grey area) Its all about they type of NFT. They are not all the same nor are they used the same way.
A POAP (proof of attendance protocol) NFT for example is simply a ticket stub for attending an event. (Physical or virtual) they have no value outside of nostalgia typically.
A โDeed NFTโ is like a โPOAPโ but also with a one time utility of redemption for a physical artwork.

But then that's also how I see The Currency NFT... but I'm told this is different, and it really is just a ticket... except to me it looks the same (more or less )

I suppose using my analogy, the Currency are season tickets. They are good in perpetuity and each assigned an individual seat in the stadium. You OWN that seat, no one else. Unless you decide to sell it.
These NFT's are more for the tailgate party. Thousands of people with the exact same ticket, no assigned seating. Nothing unique about them except they give you entry to the party. Once the party is over, it's over.

But to my old mind the currency ticket expires too when you can no longer trade for the physical art. One is an original, the other is a print... that's the only difference I can see.

The currency if not changed for real will always be an NFT of the artwork and the real will be destroyed
The Empresses if not changed for real will not be an NFT of the artwork and the real will be destroyed
