To take a photo of something and then press the "print" button is not really a legitimate artistic process. It's like buying a fancy poster from the museum gift shop.

Surely you just get left with an nft, an nft edition…. My clearly understanding is you will be left back with an expired (and worthless) voucher if you don't change it into the physical print within that period of time... The idea behind seems to be, to make trading/flipping more comfortable and to participate on these trades. But maybe I'm completely wrong!

One is an original, the other is a print... that's the only difference I can see. The currency if not changed for real will always be an NFT of the artwork and the real will be destroyed The Empresses if not changed for real will not be an NFT of the artwork and the real will be destroyed They've said what happens to the print will be up to them, not that it will definitely be destroyed. Plus that would change the edition size, which would also be wrong (especially if it's printed on the label).
You may not be left with an NFT linked to an original artwork, but you will still be left with an NFT of some sort... with an unknown value (at this point)

Damien Hirst H10 • The Empresses, by Charlie Bronson on Jan 31, 2022 19:50:10 GMT 1, I'm not sure why all the confusion. The NFT is a ticket to the Super Bowl. You can use it to actually go to the Super Bowl yourself, or you can trade it or sell it for whatever amount someone is willing to pay up until game day. If you choose not to attend the superbowl and you did not sell the ticket to the superbowl, you are left with a worthless piece of paper (or digital token).
Exactly. That being said, I’d bet a good amount of people buying aren’t aware that this is the case, despite reading the fine print.

So why buy the NFT at all? To simply save in shipping charges? If you don't go for the physical immediately, you're eventually going to have to collect it (within 3 years), or sell the rights to it?
Am I missing anything else?

I understand the difference as it’s being described by HENI. But to say there’s a big difference between an NFT Deed, and an art NFT (like ones released DFace, for example), which are all the same, don’t have utility, don’t have real art attached, seems delusional. Unless I’m missing something?
I hope there’s something big I’m missing, because it’s not very clear.

C) Don’t have to tell girlfriend/wife (within 3 years)
D) Confused you were buying NFT artwork 😂
Or…

Well you have nothing to lose, you still get your print. In the meantime if these NFT deeds are selling for more than the physicals then you made a better investment if you’re looking to flip it at some point in the next 36 months.

In the meantime if these NFT deeds are selling for more than the physicals then you made a better investment if you’re looking to flip it at some point in the next 36 months. Why would the deed ever be worth more than the physical print? Why is this so confusing to everyone.
The deed is not worth more than the physical, they are all tentatively priced the same. The NFTs cannot logically be more than the physicals as per the Currency.
I live in US - I buy an NFT. Thus saving, $200 on shipping and $200 on taxes. Maybe $100 in storage. (The NFTs are strictly for investment, no one is going to buy the NFT if they want to hang it on the wall).
I sell NFT deed to someone in Tasmania for $5000. They get the print shipped to them.
I make $1500 vs $1000. Repeat 10x for how many NFTs people invest in.

In the meantime if these NFT deeds are selling for more than the physicals then you made a better investment if you’re looking to flip it at some point in the next 36 months. Why would the deed ever be worth more than the physical print? The value of the NFT Deed on Opensea will fluctuate depending on the ETH exchange rate. I know some people have previously not got their head around how a physical piece will be more stable and not fluctuate as much (someone will try to argue this point, although it’s true!), but it all depends on how people will prefer to buy their artwork - i.e. ETH or £/$’s? We know that most people deal in £/$’s 😀
And I know owners can exchange their NFT Deed for a physical at anytime within 3 years, but remember it may take time if waiting on Heni and there will be extra costs later on.
My advice is if you are buying to sell, just buy the physical and enjoy it for a bit and then sell it. You don’t even have to buy a frame as there will be fixing on the back. Just remember to keep the packaging.

Otherwise we can expect to see Currys selling dishwashers as a redeemable NFT for a ~17% saving to the consumer.
Wonder why a U.K. based company charges customers in $ ?
