As the suggestions have said if you haven't been to MoMA it is the best museum in the country in my opinion. Deitch is always worth a visit as well as the other big galleries. Lots of great street art in Brooklyn and Queens..

I went to MoMa many years ago, but will of course revisit.
Yeh Deitch has always looked interesting - will check it.
MUST get a steak in so might just go for a monster and root beer YUP.
Team and Friedman Benda look pretty joke, will definitely give them a sneaky one.
Yeh, and will be predominantly on foot so will of course keep 'em peeled for any pasters, tags, murals, scrans, inverted dirt tings & whatnot.
Yeh as for music, I suppose it's for the best the SXSW is on otherwise I'd probably spend too much time deciding between gigs! But perhaps there will be some post-SXSW parties down in the city which will give me some flummoxing. We'll see.

My first post! Anyway, im over in NY from the UK late September to see Pavement and wanted to know where is good to see some street art? Also, have any galleries got anything on worth catching around that time?
Also, want to say that the site is fantastic! I have learnt so much about street art through reading this site 1000 times daily. Its costed me a fortune but, it ain't just Banksy out there doing great art on the streets. Not much room left to hand stuff now!

Anonymous Gallery in the lower east side is great. Brooklyn has great galleries as well including Brooklynite and Eastern District. ANother great event is every Sunday at PS1 in Queens which is part of MOMA. There is a giant installation by a different artist every year and always great music www.ps1.org/warmup/
