Ai Weiwei Artist's Hand Sculpture, by mash on Oct 17, 2017 17:16:45 GMT 1, Realized this hasn't been posted here. Ai Weiwei, in conjunction with a series of installations in NYC, just released a series of 1000 prints and 1000 Electroplated rhodium "middle finger" hands, a cast of his own.

These went on sale at 12pm EST and are going fast. Prints are unnumbered and unsigned, but hands have an etched signature in the base. Def an opportunity to own a piece of Ai Weiwei's legacy for relatively cheap.

I checked it out on the first day, wasn't sure (finances were tight) and decided to pass. Woke up the next day, checked to see if it was sold out (which I was pretty certain it would be) and I was very surprised to see it wasn't. I ended up buying one and I'm glad I did. |
