I’m Pregnant! Advice please (art, obviously haha), by hollie on Mar 25, 2022 23:51:43 GMT 1, So I’m looking to get a print for my first baby (due in august!) that would represent how much they will mean to me and my husband. Long story short, it’s basically a miracle I got pregnant as I’ve been really sick…..
The obvious example is stik’s “baby” or “big mother” but they are waaaaaay out of my price range.
Any other ideas forum members?

Have you looked at Loie Hollowell’s prints?

How about getting a panda print as it is a miracle when they have babies as well?
A Martin Whatson Panda is around £2k, but Hama Woods should have a Panda print released by Graffiti Prints within the next few months that will be a lot cheaper. Both would be child friendly.

I’ve always liked the idea of Camilla D’Errico pieces in baby nurseries. She has this adorable series called “Bees”, that would look great in a nursery imho. She also offers a bunch of very reasonably priced prints of her other works, which are also quite adorable.

Having been through the worst of it with me Coach, I was dying to tell you some happy news for once!

Very simple typographic stuff that would look great in a nursery. Just maybe not the ‘slow punched’ one.

Stik book posters, Fanakapan balloon art, Mighty Mo, Rowdy, Sweet Toof to name a few. My son has all these artist on his bedroom walls since he was born and he loves them. There are some pics of his bedroom on my Instagram Congrats by the way, it’s pretty full on being a parent but it’s really great too.

Check out paper cut artist, Emily Hogarth. I’ve used her a few times for wedding presents. Her commission list is lengthy but she’ll create something truly wonderful with huge sentiment.
And huge congratulations. Make the most of those last remaining lie-ins… 😂😉

We ended up with a few sugar sweet prints but they got a bit to sweet, and sold again.
We ended up with Dot Dot Dot - Vandal King.
They come in four colors; blue, pink, black and cyan.
Something for both genders and all tastes.
Also I would throw in another suggestion and that is something from Mike Lee.

He's got an Ernest Zacharevic Jurrasic Bark ready for one wall and is probably going to get a Haring dog too. They seemed really kid friendly images and hopefully he'll grow to love them.
He adores my Blek Crooner. Sometimes looking at it is the only thing that calms him down at night. Now he waves to it everytime he goes past. Melts my heart.

With my little one, we have a routine during bedtime where we go around and say goodnight to all the smiling Murakami flowers (I have 4 prints in her room). I love when she waves to them and says 'nite nite'. |
