The Next Banksy Project?, by Extra Ball on Jun 23, 2022 11:38:05 GMT 1, It doesn't surprise me that he has not responded to the new war considering the amount of work him and his team have put into the support of refugees- particularly those from middle Eastern areas who are now being shipped off to Rawanda instead of being allowed to stay in the UK. Then all of a sudden- if you are from the Ukraine there is specific funding and places for you to live here? I am seething in the same black void- Palestinians in particular are being treated like vermin. Syrians starving to the point where children eat grass and leaves. And I cannot even describe the casual attitude towards the situtation in Afganistan. I have family in Bangladesh who are meters under water right now- whole villages and towns washed away. Do you think the government will allow them to move here as refugees? Hell no. Even if you fill the forms in, have the income and space they still say no. But Ukraine? Yes. It does not make sense. At all. It would have to be something incredibly intelligent to comment on the issue above. Maybe he will do a complete UTurn and make a campaign based on something else entirely?

I very much enjoyed it as it brought some levity to the covid times. The world has so much 'heavy' stuff going on and so many running (negative) commentaries. Everything msredhead said above plus a looming food shortage worldwide and another potential financial crisis on deck. Everyone here knows B's opinion on the situation in Eastern Europe. He doesn't need to express it and maybe there will be a "hinge" moment where creating something visual will make a difference. I don't think it is now and it would largely get lost in the moment (imo).
Something light that makes us see a light at the end of the tunnel gets my vote.
2022 is the year we all thought we were rounding the corner to head toward a good place and its like the sky opened up and started raining shite and monkeypox on us. Seriously.

Publicity gold mine, zombies all walking round a chosen city phone in hand looking for a hidden prize worth a fortune. Ultimately not anarchic enough for Banksy these days I guess, maybe a better idea for someone like invader.

The world has changed so much since coming out of lockdown he’s looked at it and felt it irrelevant now.
