Many will end up damaged if they are all packed so badly. My offer of 4.5k is off the table - now offering 2.5k in light of the lower than expected quality. Bet some wished they had taken my 4.5k! The only thing we wished anyone had taken was the morning after pill you insufferable twerp.

Damien Hirst • The Currency Unique Prints, by High Contrast on Dec 21, 2022 18:43:01 GMT 1, Mine arrived today and I was really surprised how good it is after all the negative comments about the paper. I really like it. It’s signed and unique. I also own a physical currency and personally don’t understand why this would be worth less. The currency is tiny and an edition of 10,000 whereas the unique is huge and an edition of 1,000. While I appreciate the annoyance that someone lucky enough to get one is taking the mickey by selling the day it arrived I don’t agree with people who are saying it’s worth a couple of thousand. It’s irrelevant to me as both prints are going on my wall but good luck with the sale, however unless you really need the money you might regret it this time next year. For what is is , a large signed and numbered hirst spot print (I prefer the more uniform prints but just personal preference. You know as well as anyone that I’m a sucker for the more uniform spot prints) they are great!
Maybe the background could be more ‘white’ but apart from that they are very cool.
well done to everyone who bought one

Damien Hirst • The Currency Unique Prints, by Riotcops on Dec 21, 2022 19:30:52 GMT 1, There really shouldn't be any arguing over price or flips on these in my eyes. This is ALL still part of the Currency project. They are meant to be bought, sold, traded. If the originals are the dollar dollar bills then these are the coins. Let the project ride. We can gang up on everyone trying to flip the paper veils.
As for price, what is anything worth? Offer as little as you like, seller will sell for as much as they can get. People were offering £4-£7k right off the bat. My first hunch was $10k. They're massive unique prints, the signature is bigger than the OG currency. Paper doesn't look great and that should affect value but I still think these are desirable and will look solid framed up. Would rather one of these than empresses but we can all argue all day over the subjectivity of art and personal bias.

Damien Hirst • The Currency Unique Prints, by Deleted on Dec 21, 2022 20:34:02 GMT 1, I don't own one but depending on how raised the signature is I'd laminate it, mount on dibond and add a subframe like recent Heni releases. If spending more than diasec mounted with dibond and acrylic like the older releases. I don't think this would affect the value too much and if for your own enjoyment then it doesn't matter. One thing it will do is preserve the print.
Could also dry mount and box frame. I wouldn't be floating or tabbing it to a backboard due to flimsy paper, nor can you use a mat/mount with signature so close to edge.

Everyone is over complicating it, just use a big one of these and as a bonus you'll have a few extra dots (no one will notice)

Damien Hirst • The Currency Unique Prints, by blurp on Dec 21, 2022 23:11:02 GMT 1, The amount of moaning on here is OTT. I assume part of the idea is to create FUD, drive down prices and purchase at a discount. From what I've seen the colours look stunning but the packing looks crap. Perception management within fine art is huge. Part of of the problem is that these were treated and shipped on the same level as posters, a major brand misstep especially for an established company such as HENI.
EDIT: I should say, everyone who had a print damaged has the right to be upset and get things sorted.

There does appear to be issues with packaging, damage, quality of paper, people unsure how to even frame or store. Doubt that some buyers will risk buying one and getting it shipped again.
Many of us questioned how good the UP’s would be when we saw then at Newport Street Gallery (especially when displayed next to the Great Expectations).
I don’t think it is about bringing prices down (normally it’s the other way around), but more of a sudden realisation that they could actually be worth less than people expected so will be defensive. It wouldn’t be the first time, people’s high expectations of a Hirst are not realised (such as 15,000+ Empresses that are under cost).
I’ve been a long term advocate of the Currency (framing mine 6 months before the burn date) and would have bought a UP for £1k on release. I wouldn’t buy on the secondary market though so doesn’t matter if it is £1.5k or £15k.
I do hope that the people who have been allocated them, will frame them and enjoy them. Heni have been meticulous in how they have allocated them so it is only fair to them for choosing the winners.
For me, I’m happy to have won the Currency lottery originally so consider myself lucky already.
