Pejac Recent Prices!!, by nobokov on Nov 17, 2022 20:18:44 GMT 1, Funny that guys are still trying to generate hype in this dead print market. Put something out at auction, have your friend buy it for $20k, pay your friend back. Go to a forum and post about the high auction price. The art market is so fraudulent, it's amazing.

Pejac Recent Prices!!, by LJCal on Nov 17, 2022 21:35:40 GMT 1, That reason is because the seller(s) do not answer messages, Iโve contacted Dope gallery several times and the Artscapy prints and no response. Either theyโre no longer available, vendor doesnโt want to sell or theyโre useless. If anyone has Forest at $8k Iโm a buyer all day long, PM me. dope gallery? and artscapy? hahahaha yeah some really reputable sellers ya got there. i agree though that they are useless. Can't understand why they don't respond even if the work is not available, just bad business

If this were true, I guess one of you must have an "in" with TateWard then too...so you can get your 25% auction fee and your 4% artist resale fee rescinded. Nothing like spending 2700 GBP just to hype art that you aren't really selling.
But isn't there a fee to list it too? So now that means someone is actually spending 4000 GBP in order for their friend to purchase it just to hype the market...

There's collectors who own a lot of work supporting an artist market at auction but I'd be highly sceptical there is anything "fraudulent"

Well for an individual seller sure, but not if the artwork is direct from the artist, which this piece could very well be and some suspect it is.
Is it faux pas for an artist to put their pieces directly in auction? I dont see many doing that but with some of the results on auctions vs direct vs gallery, I dont know why more dont go the auction route.

The Pejac Ukraine/charity artwork was placed direct, so you can make your own mind up about the others pieces that have appeared.

Interesting angle. I don't think people are hyping are they? Just mentioning the high prices he's finally getting. There's have been quite a few sales on auction recently (and the Berlin sold out show), which to me makes it v unlikely these are scams. But I agree its a possibility I hadn't considered.
I mean, the entire art market is a ponzi scheme. So, fair game I suppose

Pejac Recent Prices!!, by Humble Art Collector on Nov 18, 2022 18:02:02 GMT 1, I do not think it is a scam but it could be a piece that was in their collection that they decided to sell themselves to see what the market is? I only say that because the private owner is in Spain and that the pieces came with a 5year no resell clause. I could totally be wrong here but that is the only Radom piece in all of this.
I do not think the prices are inflated at all or that there is a conspiracy. I probably and I am sure many other collectors assume our Pejac pieces would sell for that amount (and much higher) given his demand and how rarely he does a show. Artist's who do a show 1 - 1.5 years apart, have a distinctive style, and high level of skill seem to have a pretty rabid following and rise a bit more quickly. It also leaves a lot of people wanting. I mean just look at the demand for every one of his print drops. I think this was 100% legit.

Pejac Recent Prices!!, by jordansw on Nov 28, 2022 3:57:22 GMT 1, There's no conspiracy. I am simply recognizing that Pejac prices are thriving in a time when the entire market (besides a very small # of artists) is down. In my opinion, this is long overdue. But again we will have to see if these new prices hold. The Snow Angel piece I actually asked Max about. He informed me that the seller had permission by the artists estate to list it for auction. I'm sure they got a % of what it sells for but importantly they get the hype from the hammer price, just like what this post is doing.
This is strategy by his estate, almost like a pump by the artist. Most artists do this earlier in their careers. Now they will probably increase print and original prices. I'm sure from these new results they are seeing much more interest already from collectors.
These new prices + the post by the famous actress with 13M followers helped him gain more traction. Much deserved and as a collector who owns a few OGs and prints, I don't mind

Pejac Recent Prices!!, by nobokov on Nov 30, 2022 1:13:47 GMT 1, What would be a fair price for the HF version of Yin Yang? Fair would be at or below cost. Especially in this economy. Pejac can't even get legitimate gallery representation or a gallery show so he has little prospect of becoming a known and respected artist in the art world. The prices should reflect that common knowledge.

Doesn't conspiracy these days eventually come to mean the truth? If the last 2 years is anything to go by then this is a scam.
But again, the whole art market is. So fair game I think.

What I will say to Nobokov is that this isnโt a flash in the pan artist, pejac has a big following and I am one of them ( nothing fake about it). His shows have been awesome and the following will grow, because he is always thinking of great ideas and his skill is undeniable. Everyone will have different opinions, but they donโt have to be put across so harshly!!!

The prices should reflect that common knowledge. I respect your point of view, but even Banksy (a random name) nowadays is not officially represented by any gallery. Pejac is a very talented artist, I think it's difficult for someone with his ideas to go unnoticed. Considering that at source his last prints has been released with a costs of โฌ7000 (raffled) the last prices are totally in range with current market

Pejac can't even get legitimate gallery representation or a gallery show so he has little prospect of becoming a known and respected artist in the art world. The prices should reflect that common knowledge.
