If this were true, I guess one of you must have an "in" with TateWard then too...so you can get your 25% auction fee and your 4% artist resale fee rescinded.  Nothing like spending 2700 GBP just to hype art that you aren't really selling.  

But isn't there a fee to list it too?   So now that means someone is actually spending 4000 GBP in order for their friend to purchase it just to hype the market...

Well for an individual seller sure, but not if the artwork is direct from the artist, which this piece could very well be and some suspect it is.  

Is it faux pas for an artist to put their pieces directly in auction?  I dont see
many doing that but with some of the results on auctions vs direct vs gallery, I dont know why more dont go the auction route.

What was the final price of the Pejact snow angel piece? Not that the auction is closed it does not say.

Interesting angle. I don't think people are hyping are they? Just mentioning the high prices he's finally getting. There's have been quite a few sales on auction recently (and the Berlin sold out show), which to me makes it v unlikely these are scams. But I agree its a possibility I hadn't considered.

I mean, the entire art market is a ponzi scheme. So, fair game I suppose

There's no conspiracy. I am simply recognizing that Pejac prices are thriving in a time when the entire market (besides a very small # of artists) is down. In my opinion, this is long overdue. But again we will have to see if these new prices hold. The Snow Angel piece I actually asked Max about. He informed me that the seller had permission by the artists estate to list it for auction. I'm sure they got a % of what it sells for but importantly they get the hype from the hammer price, just like what this post is doing.

This is strategy by his estate, almost like a pump by the artist. Most artists do this earlier in their careers. Now they will probably increase print and original prices. I'm sure from these new results they are seeing much more interest already from collectors.

These new prices + the post by the famous actress with 13M followers helped him gain more traction. Much deserved and as a collector who owns a few OGs and prints, I don't mind

plus a HF Scattercrow - not sure have seen one of these before.

Fair would be at or below cost. Especially in this economy. Pejac can't even get legitimate gallery representation or a gallery show so he has little prospect of becoming a known and respected artist in the art world. The prices should reflect that common knowledge.

The more you go on about it and the more prints that come up for sale the more I think this could be manipulation. All very coincidental.

I respect your point of view, but even Banksy (a random name) nowadays is not officially represented by any gallery.
Pejac is a very talented artist, I think it's difficult for someone with his ideas to go unnoticed.
Considering that at source his last prints has been released with a costs of €7000 (raffled) the last prices are totally in range with current market
