The first one, I don't like the composition, being off the ground level like that? I'm not sure Banksy would place it like that? But the quality of the stencil looks right, so maybe somebody else put it up? Banksy maybe sent the stencil there for another artist to place? The second one just seems weak, and the stenciling a bit too simple. But I'm happy to be proven wrong.
Not having a dig but I have no idea how someone who has looked at Banksy works for years cannot see that this is blatantly his work. Solid stencil work is classic Banksy right from the little rats of 20 years ago
In fact the placement is the bit that guarantees it for me, that stencil at the top fits perfectly into the partly ruined wall anchoring the piece , which is obviously an additon , to what's already there and war torn. It classic B

Clearly Banksy. Martial law as a title? I called it first. Not really sure why they felt the need. There isnt really any satire to be had. Shitshow. Did it take the team this long to come with this....yawn. So many more smarter ideas to be had....pipelines being cut, bridges destroyed, nuclear annihilation etc. Where is the edge? Bit tame and sadly I can't help feeling Banksy is fading. Ironically towards being nothing more than a side note. Gutted. Every artist needs progression but the PR machine tried and tested needs freshening up.

Just to be clear Russia is a mafia state who chose to invade Ukraine, no one believes Ukraine is a utopia but to say Zelensky alongside the USA some how caused Russia to invade them is bullshit and you know it. With the right knowledge and guidance Iโm sure heโs just fine. Surprised to see feet personally but maybe heโs pushed the boat out this time. I think they are both genius pieces. The use of the anti tank mine for the seesaw is very Banksy and the Judo Putin is absolutely spot on.
Appreciate your post, I was trying to identify what the object used for the seesaw could be. My best guess was an axel of some sort. Perhaps just leftover metal from a country in war. Curious what makes you call it an "anti tank mine"? Thank you

The use of the anti tank mine for the seesaw is very Banksy and the Judo Putin is absolutely spot on. Appreciate your post, I was trying to identify what the object used for the seesaw could be. My best guess was an axel of some sort. Perhaps just leftover metal from a country in war. Curious what makes you call it an "anti tank mine"? Thank you The metal clusters are called (anti-tank) Hedgehogs. They can bust up/ throw a tank's tracks when a tank tries to plow through them. They look a lot like Jacks (the game), so I am guessing that one is called 'Jacks and Jill' or thereabouts, but it is also reminiscent of the characters in Kids on Guns from 2003.
If I were to name the other one, I would call it, 'The Takedown.'

With the right knowledge and guidance Iโm sure heโs just fine. Surprised to see feet personally but maybe heโs pushed the boat out this time. I think they are both genius pieces. Does anyone have the wherewithal to check in on Steve Lazarides tomorrow to confirm he is in the UK??? I'm no forensic scientist, BUT I will say, from seeing enough of Steve's photographs, that this photo, to me, has Steve Lazarides written all over it as the photographer. Did these Byatches actually break-up or was it a smokescreen to create plausible deniability??? Stay tuned for UAA episode 6,036.

Why are you asserting that there is still a "chance" that they are? 'Takedown' is spot on style of 'Achoo' while the Hedgehog teeter-totter lines up with Kids on Guns stylistically. Nobody else does these styles meaningfully. |
