R.I.P TREVORM , by pidge on Nov 22, 2022 17:21:51 GMT 1, It's with great sadness I write this post to inform you that we have sadly lost a good friend and longstanding forum member and all round top bloke!
Most of you would have known him on here as Trevorm but to some of us he was good old Trev.
Sadly Trev lost his battle with cancer last week after fighting Leukemia courageously for over a year.
Trev was truly the best of people and those who knew him will back me in saying what a great guy he was. He contributed massively to this community for well over a decade with his upbeat positive attitude, knowledge and I must say he loved an art deal and a biscuit!
I have decided to hold a raffle in Trev's memory to raise some funds for Cancer Research UK. I first met him trying to buy a Banksy print many moons ago so it seems fitting to offer up some of my Banksy goodies for somebody to win. I have set up a JustGiving page, the link is posted below.
www.justgiving.com/fundraising/trevorm-art
In addition to the Banksy bundle I'm also giving the lucky raffle winner a years supply of McVities Hobnobs (its what Trev would have wanted!).
Ok, so here is the 'deal'. I understand its tough times for people so please only give what you can afford to donate. This is about helping an important charity in memory of a great guy....please no negative comments on this thread. To be clear, the JustGiving link is open to those that wish to just donate to the charity but I have added the raffle as I think its in the spirit of what my mate would have liked. If you wish to just donate there is no need to put your name. If you wish to enter the raffle please make your donation shall we say £5 an 'entry' but add your name, email and forum name to the JustGiving donation info section with your donation. Feel free to give more if the charity means more to you or if you can. The size of donation WILL NOT effect the outcome of the raffle.
I'm running the fundraiser until the end of Jan '23 and the winner will be selected in the first week of Feb '23. This is my first attempt at this so let's hope it works and raise some funds for this amazing charity. I will select the lucky winner at random....method to be confirmed and transparent (no funny business).
I will post the winner on here and contact them directly to make arrangements.
So here is the bundle:
Banksy Di-Face Tenner (Genuine) Banksy Box Set (Walled Off Hotel receipt) Banksy Pallestine poster (Walled Off Hotel receipt) Banksy Peckham Rock (British Museum receipt) Banksy Forgive Us Our Trespassing poster (Don't panic double sided, folded) Banksy Walled Off Hotel T-Shirt and Pearly Gates postcard (Bought direct by me at the hotel in the first week it opened)
McVities Hobnobs (more than you can get through!)
Good luck and thanks in advance to all that donate from me (and Trev)

I actually got my Barcode from Trevor and he was a gentleman to deal with every time. This really is such a sad thing to have happened.
Pidge thanks for letting us know as I had no idea he was ill. Also thank you for setting up the opportunity for people to give to such a great cause for a great man.

I was messaging him just a week ago, and he was in hospital but never let on how serious it was. I bought a print off him way back, and he bought a few off me - we bonded over classic cars when I picked them up. Never had a hobnob off him, but he made a killer cuppa.
Rest in power good man. Love to L and the family

R.I.P TREVORM , by Love Is In The Air on Nov 22, 2022 19:05:53 GMT 1, Thanks for posting this Pidge but what sad, sad news to read.
Trev was a really great guy and one of the people I would count as a good friend I met through the forum. We did a few deals over the years and when I was living in South London and I would semi-regularly go and see him for a cuppa. He loved to chat about the forum, Banksy deals he had done over the years and also his need to "thin out his flat file". This was an ongoing problem a fair few people will have on here but in Trev's case he seemed to have bought a wide variety of urban artists over the years and no sooner would I buy the odd bit or he sell something on here then he would buy something new or get something framed. So like for many of us the issue never went away! I'm not sure he would have had it any other way.
He loved bargaining and haggling over a print but never in a serious way, always with a smile and a joke on text message and he seemed to enjoy my enthusiasm for building a collection which meant he was more than fair with his prices. He also introduced me to framers he had found and liked/recommended and highlighted other prints he thought were underrated and worth getting hold of. If he really liked a print and thought it was fantastic it would be typical Trev to buy a second or third copy of the print and frame it up for a family member or simply keep it in the flat file as the deal was "too good to be true" and so he had to buy it, even though he already had one on the wall (Micallef should feel his ears burrning at this point!).
I am probably rambling a bit, but often on the forum these days, deals are quick business-like transactions for good reason or prices are fiercely debated and it is all quite serious because of the sums involved. With Trev a deal was never really like that, it was tea and hob nobs first and then a chat and with any luck I would drive away with something decent, but if I didn't I would be back in a few months to look at something else he had remembered he had hidden under a dozen other prints!
I'm very sad I won't be having another tea with Trev and a natter, and will be supporting the raffle and hope others will too.
RIP Trev

First time when I got my Bast Micky from him I went to his office and he had a lovely collection of urban art on the walls and a few other interesting bits and bobs. Then he hand delivered my secret Santa a few years later and spent the next several years trying to buy my Barcode.
