Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by fuqueuing on Feb 4, 2023 18:48:35 GMT 1, I still can't get past the cube. Is it even an Invader piece at all?? It's an off the shelf rubik's cube with a logo.

Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by Jonas B on Feb 4, 2023 19:20:02 GMT 1, Impression I get from most comments on here is people want to like these more than they actually do. The images are weak, they’re really big and quite shouty, they’re priced too high for what they are. Buying to flip (which most people on here like to do) is very high risk. Having given it much thought I reckon most will end up in editions of 1000-1500 except for the Marilyn which will be 2000+ it’s the best but will be the least rare.

Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by stendhal on Feb 4, 2023 19:26:00 GMT 1, I think this edition is a big question mark for many of us and particularly me.
1)The four pictures are very different (which is not a problem in itself), chosing one can only be done if you know you conception of art and of Invader’s work
2)We all fear to miss somerhing unique : to have a big format with hand signature for a reasonable price. and who knows, perhaps not so big édition.
3) But we all remind recent édition of 3D invader which nice and affordable but numerous. If Invader keep on going with such production, all this pieces will have less interest. There un no challenge un getting one today or tomorrow
4) artistic interest for thèse is very low : medium and impression technic and absence of relief.
My conclusion, buying these is kind of a gamble which is not my conception of buying art. I have been buying édition pièces for 20 years, including very expensive ones but these ones, I do not buy. I keep asking to myself if I am missing something but no. I was a huge fan of 3D but I am very desapointed by these ones

I think (!) that the idea is less on the cube than on the invasion of the cube - which could be seen as being in line with Invader's street work.
However, I also really only see a photo of a Rubik's cube.

Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by fuqueuing on Feb 4, 2023 19:47:45 GMT 1, End of the day it's the large format that makes these an easy pass for me. There's a lot of contemporary art that only works in large clean spaces, for someone filling up empty walls in their mansion or the like. I'd put these in that category. The overbold simplicity of Invader's work only magnifies that effect in my mind. Even his small pieces have an outsized visual effect on a space, which is much of the point. I don't reckon I'll ever have a space large enough for these to feel appropriate.

Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by blurp on Feb 4, 2023 20:00:00 GMT 1, This place is mad.... ya'll beg for accessible open signed editions. They then come along and many folks are upset and wondering if "it'll flip". Yes, $3k is expensive for many (it is for me!) but relative to current prices, it's fair.

I don't beg for open editions, i like F5ing on release, i like the hunting challenge and when edition number is known. Click on "buy now" with a note below "you have 10 days to do so" isn't really satisfying.

Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by obaki69 on Feb 4, 2023 21:20:14 GMT 1, Bought Marilyn and Camouflage. These comments are entertaining to say the least. Very similar to the chatter around "The Virtues" release.
My only regret there is I didn't buy the full set at the time.

Invader will never be Banksy and vice versa… Banksy is unic and will never do commercial and hyped things like that. you can compare soon in the manner with Kaws, DFace, maybe Hirst ( the one of now ) but Hirst more close to contemporary art, than streetart. here it’s street-art.

Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by Deleted on Feb 4, 2023 21:47:43 GMT 1, Let us know, I’m on the fence - really trying to move away from editions, but the size is good for me as I’m looking for larger works…
It’s size is part of the appeal for me as well.

Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by Acme Thunderer on Feb 4, 2023 21:51:17 GMT 1, I find it refreshing that there are people who are being more considered and not just buying because of the name.
Normally, a 100cm x 100cm signed release by Invader would have the majority of people being positive.
I believe the lack of enthusiasm is not to do with the price, but the lack of originality from this release.
This makes me really miss POW as they got it so right when it came to Invader.

Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by Charlie Bronson on Feb 4, 2023 21:52:56 GMT 1, Bought Marilyn and Camouflage. These comments are entertaining to say the least. Very similar to the chatter around "The Virtues" release. My only regret there is I didn't buy the full set at the time. I agree. Not trying to sway people one way or the other, I could care less; I bought to frame and hang like I do with all of my art purchases, but I’m very surprised that so many people are hesitant to pull the trigger on a gigantic, signed(yeah I know, label), numbered, invader print released by a reputable company, for $3k.
We can note and dissect the faults until we’re blue in the face; image choice, dibond etc, which is fine. But for those that like Invader’s work and want a piece on their walls, this is an opportunity the likes of which we’ve never seen before; not saying we won’t see it again, and if so great, it’ll be cool to own the first Heni/Invader collab, but I don’t think anyone anticipated this release.

As always buy what you like not what you think should flip.

I think so too: most people on here like or even adore Invader. A print of his is the dream for many. This at first seems promising ... an Invader print, large, luscious colours, signed. We WANT IT to be what is appears to be, but its not, its just not.

Next will be a Triomphal Arche in 3D Rubik statue ! Monumental ! Anyway Christo wrapped it already ! Simplicity is the best.

Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by Buckwurst on Feb 4, 2023 23:09:01 GMT 1, I was already looking for something big for the house extension were doing this year. I would have never thought it could be a one square meter Invader. And so my first thought was I absolutely need one, and it's not out of the question yet, but it's nice I get some time to think about it.
I went to MiMa three times last year, the Rubik's works are amazing and I feel the best part is how abstract the works get up close. The Invaded cube and the Rubik camouflage obviously lack that. I think that the true to life sized pieces work best, so that leaves me with Marilyn and Country Life and I don't really have any connection to either of the images.
There are so many better images to choose from that would have appealed to more people, imagine if they'd done Starry night. And yes like somebody mentioned, Heni and Invader might do another run with images I'd like more than these four.
That said, I would hate to miss out if this is a one time thing, and I do like Camouflage as it's the only one with an actual Invader and I'll probably go for that one if I pull the trigger.

Someone said to me along time ago on this forum and it was solid advice. If you like it buy it, if you can afford it buy it, if you are bothered what other people think don’t buy art and stay of this forum

Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by slartibartfast on Feb 5, 2023 4:51:01 GMT 1, I would suggest to keep it away from heat sources in my view. I suspect that it would be fine, but the aluminium being metal may move with higher than normal heat loads. Probably if you have another spot for it would be better, especially as the tiles get warm as you say. Just my view. Great prints these, im undecided myself but i do like them very much. Hope you enjoy it.

Anyway if you look at my post, I only speak after reading updated or last threads : most of the times it’s Banksy Invader etc .. but you will never see me in Kaws DFace Hirst ( apart his Cartier exhibition ), NFT threads etc … Yes I do prefer simplicity and soul in art. The placement, the subject, the meaning, the location. And I like Invader of course. Isa bit less the way he is taking since 2 years. But it’s his choice. anyway if you buy or don’t buy, it’s a forum open to everyone 😀

Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by Jaylove on Feb 5, 2023 7:17:50 GMT 1, Be interesting to see how many of these Heni sell? a tough year ahead for savings with people's home loan payments going up etc. on top of bills and crazy inflation on everything. Could get a lot of people gambling and using their credit card, hoping for profit and we'll be seeing them all on ebay? I do like the first one and it would look amazing on the wall, but $3k is the amount I am trying to save for an original piece I am after, so I will pass on these. Doesn’t seem like it will be much of a problem. Disappointing to see where the market has gone. Glad I “retired”. I’ll be a fan from a distance.
this would have been better with better images and a cheaper price (shrink size if necessary).
I can’t be the only one preparing for global economic hardships.

Heni x Invader 'Rubikcubism', by stendhal on Feb 5, 2023 8:42:32 GMT 1, Little question for you guys. Who is gonna buy some? How many and which ones?
I do not say that we are representative sample but I want to try a little guesstimate (with many extrapolation hypothèses of course) of edition size of each print.
Thanks a lot
