As saying our comrade up ( with a funny name ) my answer, people still keeping buying and flipping themโฆ they look like Le Palais de LaBelle au bois Dormant or at Chantilly pudding.. Anyway Shepard could make efforts or has nothing to say anymore ( I did not post the pink Pussy Riot print, itโs an ugly one ! Incredible ! ) have a nice day all !

Where to find threads about Obey last releases ?, by Londown 01 on Mar 22, 2023 9:11:48 GMT 1, I also don't get the agitation.
First, there is so much trivial, unappealing shit being published these days and these don't stick out as exceptionally bad.
Second, Fairey's powers of innovation are not at a peak anymore, which is completely understandable considering he is 50+. BUT:
- these are decorative: don't call them glorified posters because they are prints* - they are priced at what posters usually cost: they accessible, democratic - most of these have a social issue they pick up: high numbers mean that the message is spread further (- continue this list as you please)
*unlike, e.g., the recent HENI/Invader release (or any other Giclee bullshit)

Where to find threads about Obey last releases ?, by Brittany's Urban on Mar 22, 2023 9:48:51 GMT 1, I think we all know that the art of Shepard Fairey is hit and miss. This is why you have big gaps on the value of the edition with same size and same medium.
The last ones are not the best but if you check how much art he is producing, you can't blame some editions are weaker. obeygiant.com/prints/ "Universal Dignity", "Sedation in bloom", "AK-47 lotus" were very nice recently (print and letterpress).
And as mentionned by other members, he keeps his prices so low compared to most artists!

At least Obey sticks to what he does, mass art for people to spread his messages. I am fine with that. Remember, this is street art So many artists going pretentious and snobby, listening to blue galleries and investors who basically tell them to stop producing street art and low-priced prints, and stick to canvas. I do recall that French guy behind Bibo restaurant, the one who inflated Invader like mad in Asia... the same who is behind Tristan and Cleon's beef.

Most of you are right : prints are cheap and good qualities. I just did not like so much his new kind of prints that I posted, that he makes from several years now and sometimes. Simples are the best ones ! I regret a bit the print in 3 colors ( red black cream ) but itโs true that when we see one these new pimping prints, you are telling in yourself : wow thatโs great. One, two, ok but imagine all a flat with those ? If itโs to keep them in a tube under the bed, itโs not very ludicrous ! Anyway you are right : cheap, affordable and some beautiful prints.
You are absolutely right alberti. Concerning the big OTI trust, Iโm wondering if they are the same that have horses racing ( belonging to a French guy too ( that I met one time and I know on Facebook, same family I think)โฆ www.oti.com.au

Where to find threads about Obey last releases ?, by ceriseris on Mar 22, 2023 11:41:46 GMT 1, Criticism of Shepard Fairey's is well documented at this point. It mainly circles back to his art being an entirely hollow experience that serves only to further promote the brand of Shepard Fairey/Obey.
I'm in the middle of a big art overhall (selling old stuff to buy new stuff) and Shep was the first name on the list of works to be sold/given away

This was my statement when he released the French Marianne, everybody loved it. I hated it, he copied/pasted the commercial lady in Alphonse Mucha coffee ads, like starbucks did, and called it Marianne... and everybody fell for it, even Macron Turning national representation into merchandising - Totally!
