Still on the fence, I love the concept but do feel like I'm paying the price for a bag of fudge at a pick n mix and getting marshmallows and flying saucers instead. One thing I've noticed is the jump in size between S, M and L is 75% whereas L and XL is only 40%. So the large is the better buy for me. Whether XL proves to be better on secondary... who knows. Thoughts on edition size? My guesstimate. S: circle 2000 square 400 M: circle 1200, square 240 L: circle 800, square 160 XL: circle 600, square 120
I would be surprised if the total number is as low as 5,500 based on previous Hirst timed releases. If the Empresses had an edition of 15,000+ @ $3,500 (in Jan 2022) then I guess it has got to be 7,500+. I also think there might be slightly more XL than Large sold and similar numbers of Small and Medium.
My guess will be a total of 8,000:
Small - 2,000 circle / 300 square
Medium - 2,000 circle / 300 square
Large - 1,000 circle / 300 square
X-Large - 1,300 circle / 300 square
+ 500 NFTs
Will be interesting to see how markets have shifted and we know Heni will confirm the numbers sold fairly quickly after the sales have closed.

I noticed 4 major bitches / gripes with the Invader release, and how HENI addressed with this Beautiful Paintings offering.
1. Invader is not the International Art Star Hirst is: OK, fixed. We give you once again, Hirst.
2. As with my A/X Armani Exchange T-shirt, I want the logo / signature big on the front where all my mates can see it: Done. Big bright Damien Hirst sign on front, in fat contrasty color paint marker. Can't miss it.
3. 100cm!?! Too big! OK: these start at the size of a dinner plate, from $1500.
4. Too shiny that plexi glazing! OK, putting them on mildly glossed canvas.
Hope everyone gets what they want.

I bet if a gallery has 15k, buying ten of the small ones and selling over the next couple of years with a decent mark up, it will seem like a no brainer. |

The only one I liked looked very different on Instagram so I do worry the one I made wonโt quite look right in person colour-wise which is quite off putting. Hard to decide what to do. Way better quality than I was expecting of a โprinted canvasโ. I was thinking to get a couple of small ones, prior to going, but after going I think Iโll either get a L or XL. Medium quite an ok size but the small really feels too tiny, so wouldnโt recommend unless you have somewhere specific you want a really small weird spin printed canvas thing. And even then think they look better with less colors. Found the blurred parts a bit meh, kind of just hurt my eyes.
Also agree that many of the ones on display were rather bad examples, bar a few.

It was actually the white that I didn't love. It may have just been the examples in the gallery, but those with white looked a bit cheaper as it was more obvious that they were printed. Again, only my view. |

The colour palatte is very limited and there's only a handful of algorithms to choose from. All we do is hit 'generate'. It gives the impression that it puts you into the artists shoes, but that's very far from it. This is computer generated art, of which Hirst is happy to put his name to. |

I say this as a fan and collector of Hirst.
