They completely lack the semi chaotic effect of a real spin painting. A bit like the magic eye prints at Athena back in the day. It's cool playing with the generate function but that's about it for me. For me this experiment is more about the what is art question. I think that a bio-mechanical machine *a perso) has so many conflicts whereas an algorithm has none in this context. It has nothing to do with random. The experience of clicking generate does not illicit an emotional response.

Yes indeed, That's how I feel about these, they are intrisically devoid of any emotion, you are not throwing paint at a canvas, just simply clicking a button, and the end result is just what the algorithum gives you, an emotionless flat digital print on canvas. |
