1- not the best time to do a release; most people are on vacation and summer time is not the best time to buy art.
2- The Art Market is in a difficult stage (bear market).
3- edition size of the empresses (2000 pieces per print) teach that hype beats taste.
My opinion on this release is that in 2 years WLMS will be much desired than Blossom.
Edition size will determinate an increase in prices.

There is clearly a lot more going on that will impact demand than just image quality. Also not sure what you mean by 'image quality'. I think the images are actually quite good and it's dibond so whilst there are pros and cons for that medium, the quality, defined as a means of reproducing the underlying image, is clearly excellent.

I never went in the end so I would never want one. If you went and liked it, then great.
If you only went to the exhibition to buy and flip a £50 poster then that is really quite pathetic and you need to get a life (or job). I bet a lot of people went straight up to the desk to buy before (if at all) looking at the artwork in the exhibition.
It is just sad there has been so much discussion purely about a very average and unappealing signed poster rather than the shiny dibond or giant canvases that wouldn’t fit in 99.9% of members homes.
I am glad the exhibition has ended so all talk about f*ck!n posters can hopefully f*ck!n end!

I wouldn't hazard a guess, especially with an unknown edition size. I'm confident that initially they won't be worth less than they cost. In a while, and it will be a while before I consider selling mine, they might be worth more than they cost. We've seen some Heni Hirst open editions go up by a few £100, and some by a few £1,000 - these could be either - I'd expect the former initially, and the latter eventually.

I get that it’s frustrating at times, and sometimes can take away and distract from more meaningful discussions surrounding an exhibition. However, for a lot of people, entry level posters are sometimes the only way to acquire affordable pieces by artists they admire. I for one, can’t afford any of Hirts releases so this is an opportunity for me to get a signed piece by him. |

Ca see that on socials and at the gallery. Art market is teetering, many are questioning whether now is a good time to spend such sums. Heni know that and the posters let folk participate in a cost effective manner. The cherry blossoms were never displayed in the UK and there was little pomp and circumstance around the beautiful paintings. The Currency might have but there was lock down. Closest we get might be those drain pipe posters which actually did attract quite a bit of poster interest.
Casting the net a little wider, there does seem to be a bit of creeping hysteria. The moon swatches, which are effectively unlimited, had folks going crazy for them. Those scenes in New York for the PlayStations being given away for free. Cost of living is high and opportunities are being taken. Interesting times.
