Can someone recommend a Haring authenticator in NYC, by Art Admirer 93 on Aug 10, 2023 14:06:45 GMT 1, Hi all,
Interesting situation - came across a public work walking around NYC that looks like Keith Haring and based on the location and what I've researched about the location so far, it is certainly plausible it is him (although it has been a while for something like this to remain untouched and I'm not sure whatever paint he used would even last this long), but I am finding no record of the work anywhere online. Would love to hire someone to look into it.
Can anyone recommend someone who could authenticate or research this potential Haring public work?
Much appreciated!

Can someone recommend a Haring authenticator in NYC, by Criminal Mischief on Aug 10, 2023 15:46:03 GMT 1, I'd be curious to check it out if you want to post a photo here or send it to me privately in direct messages. If it's not a known work, like the mural at the LGBT Center, the swimming pool in the west village, or a small baby drawing at the foot of a pillar at the old Pop Shop on Lafayette St, then I'd be very skeptical.
I feel like most likely it's not legit, and I see the Keith Haring Foundation has not authenticated works since 2012, so my next recommendation would be Gladstone Gallery, which I believe still represents the estate. However, if it's a public work and not a piece they could potentially sell, I'm not sure how interested they would be.

Can someone recommend a Haring authenticator in NYC, by pjc on Aug 11, 2023 0:54:43 GMT 1, You could always get in touch with Angel Ortiz / LA2 / LAROC. He was with Keith for a lot of the stuff done on the street.
