While commercially it might not be as successful, these kind of releases just feel more โrightโ compared to the hype-art style releases he did with Heni and the sculpture toy releases

75 % of prints of street-art are with children ( against wars or not, to denounce or not, etc etc ) : Banksy, Dran, Seth, etc etc... There are a lot ! We have to check the hardrive of these artists too ?

They could put the two magazines/prints for the same price as what is nice are both images together. Invader alone is not great. I wonder how much will be the next Invader print with the patchwork of kits (cover of 4000) , a lot I guess ! Time will tell it's the first Invader signed print that not sold out and still available for years, the invader image is not that iconic but it's Invader (prefer from far the Enki one). it's still an amazing collab for 2 iconic french artist and if some people don't know Enki please read his comics books (Nikopol trilogy is a must read for any SF fan)  People are maybe waiting for the 4K (4.5k?) litho

That means that this release wonโt be 150 ex as announced but more ?! First time they made a difference for the same price between the Invader ( just numbered ) and the Bilal ( signed and numbered ) but as this drop at 150 โฌ only matches with Invader they will print more.

How long has it been since invaders made a signed and numbered print online? 5 years? maybe longer. how many signed prints does he make in a year? this can give everyone an idea of how much this print might be worth in the future, in my opinion more than 1.5k (in fact i took one). As you all know, invader does not produce many prints. Even the last big show he did with OTI produced nothing (except unique works). You also know that when he makes prints to buy them you need to be there in person. So it is difficult to buy one of his prints at release price. IMO is still not sold out because: -Subject of the print (is not fantastic) -Some of you are (rightly) waiting for that print to come out that was seen a month ago in his instagram stories (with the subject of all his works). -The site is in French and many have not understood how it works and don't trust it. If you check all the 1.5K purchases are from French people. -The sale is real you can see the number by number of sales, in other contexts the sold out are fake the site is blocked and hype is created to sell. How many of you would buy if you saw the sold out and then magically see the possibility to buy again? if yesterday at 6pm (time of the sale) you saw the site blocked and the impossibility to put the print in the cart, and then magically be able to do it? So do what you want but afterwards don't complain that it's hard to buy a print of Invader. ciao!
Remember when Invader invading Hong Kong, he met a rich French guy there running a restaurant (Bibo) who told Invader and so many other street artists to stop producing prints and low-marked items and to concentrate on blue pieces... then Invader's price went up like crazy, just after the Hong Kong auction, totally inflated imo. As for the French guy, there are posts here, even Twits from artists arguing about this (as he stop production of few prints). Invader's prices are ridiculous; sadly, Invader had no issue with that and fine with 10 fold increase, what a dickhead! From propaganda street artist to blue chip brand name.

I was just there to get a unique work of Obey but if I had taken invader I would have made more money ๐

There is nothing to buy at the moment at a decent price ( even if I think that 150 euros si expensive for an unsigned giclee, a sticker and two magazines with the same texts and photos inside ) |
