Ah nice one. I bought the first 2 books in a charity shop many years ago but didn't realise that there was a 3rd one! So I will buy the Cold Equator today. Cheers |

Hirst and his serial production of stains? Kaws? Banksy doesn't do anything for the fans anymore. Obey too many prints if you don't collect unique pieces. Faile? where's Blu? Dface? Retna? Who else? JR? In my opinion this work is one of the few affordable things in recent years Banksy put out two posters and a book for the fans this year?

Both are giclee print with same edition with different size that's it (already bought enki print from the gallerist in different size in the past and it's how it is)
For the invader you are paying x10 for the sign of both artists (besides there was no limitation i'm sure some people have buy more than 2 small to easily flip them).
For the enki our are paying x10 for invader sign...
An edition of 300 both at 600/700e for the big size only with sign would have soldout for long time (with the same or more money pledge for the book)
Last thing like all end or year there is plenty of release around (and it's not finish) and people have to chose ...

However, Invader does not drop many prints per year and the one is a bargain. If you remember the HENI editions (open editions), I think roughly 4000 Prints have been sold (I may be mistaken). And the HENI prints looked horrible and the size was too large + unsigned.
Here we have a print that has a great size, nice colouring and is signed with an edition of 150. I think really is a bargain even if the picture is not the greatest.
From an investment perspective, this is not bad in my opinion. HENI open edition goes for 3k+. And that is an open edition.
From a collectors point of view great pricing and availability.

I think there are plenty of parties in the art business that would be interested to fund such project (through donations, mag ads, commission, etc.).
The guy said it itself, it is a crazy idea - understand no one was willing to fund us because our project has very few chances to survive so we call on you. I may sound like a dick but this is an ephemeral money grabbing thing based on false hope, nothing else.

Anyway what it will happen ? Refunds ? They canโt edit Portfolio for so few of subscribers no ? Maybe I am wrong.. Anyway I repeat the prices were high. And the manager of Portfolio is a fan/editor of Enki Bilal and BD ( comics ) first. Invader is a friend of Bilal. So he helped it too. The project was not bad, to resume, just a bit expensive and above all, magazines are only in French ( we know that the greatest buyers are from UK/USA, and some European countries.

so if 30 prints are unsold, they will either reduce the number or sell them to their friends/galleries at a reduced price... but in any case they will be made.
we're talking about 180kโฌ just for the signed version... plus everything else i don't think anyone will give it up

It's a good news that some of the sneakers flippers are moving to other commodities (like pokemon cards) than art .
And yes invader is a blue chip street artist and there is still value for investement with time.

$3K for an XL iconic rubik image on aluminum or $1.5K for XS giclee image of joe pesci.

And that is an open edition. lotsa wrong in one post. heni editions were timed editions (not open). they only sold around 2.5K across the 4 editions. and they are signed on a label on the back. they don't look horrible. they look great in the flesh and are massive with iconic invader rubik images. $3K for an XL iconic rubik image on aluminum or $1.5K for XS giclee image of joe pesci. |

When you compare the new releases to "classic" invader prints (embossed, proper printing techniques, low edition sizes), all of these really are not worth the money that is being asked & paid
