Pejac & Avant Arte - A new print series, by drbf on Jul 15, 2024 18:28:57 GMT 1, This is a total manipulation by Avanart to make more money I disagree 100%. This was a great alternative for AA and demonstrates equitable treatment for eyerone.

Pejac & Avant Arte - A new print series, by nobokov on Jul 15, 2024 18:29:05 GMT 1, This is a total manipulation by Avanart to make more money Absolutely no manipulation, or any needed. This is a pejac print. In my opinion also the best most exciting drop in bloody ages. As a person who isn't interested in this image or paying $3000 for a print, I'm wondering what aspects make this drop exciting? Is it the image itself? The gold leaf? I'm not trolling, just trying to understand why this drop might be popular.

Pejac & Avant Arte - A new print series, by Invader1887 on Jul 15, 2024 18:30:10 GMT 1, Someone here alluded to this possibility. I agree it would be very strange. Not the first weird suggestion on this thread and probably not the last one either. In all fairness why not simply write "Signed by artist" to prevent any speculation? This hand finished phrase opend up this discussion which normally would never have happened.

In all fairness why not simply write "Signed by artist" to prevent any speculation? This hand finished phrase opend up this discussion which normally would never have happened. Simply because it's not something that has any sort of meat for speculation. Some people are trying to morph this into a conspiracy theorist thread of some sort. Artists sign their prints. They don't pay someone else to imitate/counterfeit their signature, so that they save the time doing so. Most of the time, it's the only moment an artist touches the print sold under his name. I've been collecting prints for nearly 20 years. To suggest the artist's signature was done by someone else is ridiculous. AcmeThunderer got in your head me thinks.

Pejac & Avant Arte - A new print series, by vei on Jul 15, 2024 18:39:47 GMT 1, I like the artist and images, that gives me a head start in getting excited. the first and last images are the best to me as single prints. Although the others work. I actually like the first image the most but I have my own interpretation of it which is different to the artists.
I like that there a multiple versions, not just colours of the same print, wich together add up to tell the story. I really like that a big name artist has split the up the prices, so that someone like me can afford to buy, not just the big spenders. But also at the starting price its price is not a blocker for even the most modest collectors. I say collectors as we are all very lucky to afford this hobby.
id like to see more artists do the same. I loved the days we didn’t have to sell a kidney to get a picture

Artists sign their prints. They don't ask someone else to imitate/counterfeit their signature, so that they save the time doing so. I've been collecting prints for nearly 20 years. I've never seen anything that ridiculous. AcmeThunderer got in your head me thinks. It may as well be me who has created an uncertainty when earlier in the thread I asked the question when AA themself wrote Pejac has not applied gold leaf to the print. AA writes "The 24ct gold leaf hand-finished is applied by a specialist glider, selected by Pejac but he is not the one applying the gold leaf". No speculation there. It's in writing. What would be speculation is when members here add to it that Pejac has gone above and beyond to do some sort of finishing touch on the gold leaf afterwards. On 1000 prints... I don't interpret it that way. AA also writes further "If something is hand-finished by the artist themselves we'll usually explicitly say so on our website". I'm not thinking signature here, I'm still talking about the goldleaf. Now.. the signature..
Based on this, I questioned whether Pejac has signed the prints, or whether his signature is part of the production process. Where I meant with my question whether that the signature is part of the printing, or signed by hand. I did not mean that a person X has sat and signed on behalf of Pejac. The question arises as it is very common for artists to use support for various tasks with such a large print run. No intention to put consiracy ideas in the head of people. Just wondering what we can expect in regards of Pejac touch on the prints. If any. Cause obviously many thought that HF meant he had added such as the goldleaf on the print. Which AA says he hasnt.

Congratulations everyone that secured one, due to lack of funds at the moment I could only try round 1. The rest of you have one less on the list for the remaining rounds.

Didn't he add bloack ink or paint on top of the gold leaf? The photos and video seems to show that.

You might have some in your collection, especially when it comes down to hand applied gold leaf, paint splatter, very light handfinishing.. usually for specific releases. Not a new concept and most definitely much different than someone else signing in the place of the artist.

You’ve made it big once you don’t do your own hand finishing. Jeff Koons doesn’t even paint his own stuff anymore.. he just touches it up at the end.. Yep, I get the argument about artists not physically making their own work, I just naively thought if a print was hand finished, then it would have been by the hand of the artist. As I said, I've never come across it before when the artist hadn't hand finished a print themselves
