As far as I'm concerned anyone who uses the word 'hater' should be gassed.

It's a toe-curlingly naff, Americanized, way of dismissing anyone who dislikes something - without actually putting some substance behind your position.

This print set just doesn't deserve some of the vitriol it's getting. Granted these pictures aren't going to make you see God or have an orgasm when you look at them, but they weren't really intended to were they? They're a visual gag, like most of D*Face's work. They're just an irreverent bit of fun and they're not pretending to be anything else, so why expect more? And more to the point, what gain is there to be had from slating them?
This is my real gripe I suppose. Armchair critics. The superior attitude and haughty tone some people take when judging other people's efforts, when 99% of them are 100% lacking in any talent themselves. It's just a little tiresome and pointless, and invariably, depressingly negative. all that effort expended ripping into someone, when the same effort could have gone into looking for stuff you actually like, and telling people about that instead.
That's what I mean by hater. Hater = critic.

i like the visual gag, as you so describe it, but I dont like the repetitive nature of the work and the £200 price tag. id personally expect something better from what some people believe is one of the scenes bright young stars.

your entitled to your opinion and Im glad you shared it. there arent many artists who dont come in for criticism on this site, thats the way it goes on forums.

I love the bit about armchair critics, we dont profess to have artistic talent, hence we dont have our username in red. But you seem to forget that this is a forum where people voice their opinions ,be them good or bad. I think that the consensus is that Dface could do so much better than bringing out a series of pictures so similar in design.

One minute Dface is flavour of the month, next some unknown person hacks his site and posts loads of big statements. Naturally half the art experts on this forum believe what's said and everyone changes their tune. I think it is hypocritical to say Dface is greedy when most members on here only buy art for profit
