Banksy & Laz, by Pattycakes on Feb 24, 2008 13:09:28 GMT 1, Alsbabar, you know you take all this far too seriously, you really do. Calm down, none if this will change the world. I don't see why you are so angry. Perhaps you have anger management issues, and you know that's ok, there is a lot you can do these days to resolve all that built up aggression, there are people that are trained to help you have a look at www.angermanage.co.uk/

You threw your toys of your pram because you didnt get the Micallef Laz Prints - boo hoo, should have got to the queue earlier!!

I havent called you any names have i printguru? However if you want to redirect people to websites, perhaps you should heed your own advice and go and look up sites that address Trust issues.

So don't cast aspersions, though I am in your case as clearly you do have anger issues.

Banksy & Laz, by mcster on Feb 24, 2008 13:42:38 GMT 1, Getting back to the original point (and apologies is this has been mentioned previously, but I couldn't be bothered to read through all of the scuffles) two weeks ago I heard, from a very good source, that Banksy had split with Laz and was starting to work with Damien Hirst, doing his screenprints etc. The reason I was told, was that it was down to money and that Banksy wanted to make more for Charity. Being Santa's Ghetto made a lot for Charity I felt the information was wrong when told it, but if there are these rumours coming out now it'll be interesting to see if my source was right.

Banksy & Laz, by afroken on Feb 24, 2008 14:34:01 GMT 1, Well, unless he continues to be the authorised dealer for authenticated secondary market Banksys then that's got to be more than half of his business gone over night. No denying he still has great artists, but no-one nearly as prolific. No doubt they'll survive the storm though.

Banksy & Laz, by mammal2 on Feb 24, 2008 15:10:30 GMT 1, Banksy does a serious amount of great work for charity. He has stated before that 90% of what he earns goes somewhere. The Ghetto was an amazing success and well managed. The pieces of paper that we all crave have given a little extra hope to many in the Middle East. Laz is a good business man with a great eye for graff and was there at close to the beginning. When Banksy thought that the Seven Shed may be a one off show, Laz was taking pictures of his London pieces. Door-to-door ยฃ500 canvas originals are in the past. He has made his money. More money than most of us will ever see. That pile of cash is now made. Banksy is set for life I would suspect and can now concentrate on doing great work for those less fortunate. His future shows will be run not by business men, but people with ethical concerns that are there to cover overheads and not maximise profits like Laz. Steve, has a brace of amazing artists that will do well under his management. I would not worry about Steve. Banksy will continue to do shows and im sure we will follow his works to the end of the earth to purchase that new print so that we can have it on our wall. Right I got to get back to Father of the Bride 2. That shit is brilliant. Steve Martin for Banksys new manager.

Banksy & Laz, by Rude Copper on Feb 24, 2008 15:13:45 GMT 1, you dont think losing one of the highest profile artist's in the contemporary art world today is'nt a major blow? i'd say it was disasterous, outside of the faile exhibition last year, did laz really have any great sucesses? (la micallef excluded). & i dont think its about breaching trust, these rumours have been bouncing around for a month or so, nobody really knows everything, but everyone seems to know something, tbh, when i saw that the newastle outlet & the print shop did'nt have banksy's name on the roster of artists,, i thought something was up.

I think Laz will start really pushing Paul Insect. He has already started pushing his work into the big auction houses and Damien Hirst buying a whole show was good for everyone concerned (except the paying public that is). Insect has helped to actually produce some of Banksy's work including LA and I think he has the creative talent to make a big step up.

Banksy & Laz, by ed on Feb 24, 2008 23:19:38 GMT 1, it'd be amazing if Banksy was gonna divert alot of future profits to charities and similair organisations!! a really good example to set for all them people who have made more money than most people would see in their life.
two good charities would be NACOA and BDP, both based in bristol
