Funny how taste and style differ among forum members. There isn't a single artist in this 'scene' that I'd take over Parla. None come close to doing what his work does for me. You'd have to go to Clyfford Still, Cy Twombly, Christopher Wool, Terry Winters, Rudolf Stingel, Basquiat, Mimmo Rotella, and some others to get close for me.

Very true... always seems to me that those who champion Parla seem to do it much more vociferously than those who champion other artists... smacks of force-feeding to me... hammer people with how outstanding he is and people will start to believe it even if they didn't before...

I was away all day yesterday so have only just seen that he has taken it but I would imagine that he did not offer less so as to be sure to secure it for himself. Whatever you all say about the print they do not come up that often and it offers an opportunity to have a Parla work at a relatively inexpensive price.
