I had a yellow pop tart in my cart from BRP and released it for a forum member. I haven't bought because I don't like. It doesn't bother me at all that the prices have gone sky high. You can't buy things because you are speculating on their future value.
It does surprise me that there are other artists who I see, IMHO, as far more talented that Dface who don't seem to get half the hype. But that is good for me as it means that I can buy their stuff without all the attendant madness.
To those who do like fair play but please enough of the hype machine.

It's a self-fuelling process, and it's happened to Micallef, Neate and Beejoir, as someone mentioned. Prices start to rise quickly, then people see that happening and start to jump on the bandwagon, and they rise even faster. They will plateau out at some point or even drop. This is an inevitable and natural process, and it's a good thing. It won't affect the quality of D's output, but it will make it more affordable to his genuine fans (of which there are a shit load).

Yes, that etching is fantastic quality. Also CliChe, weather you like the image or not the production of the print is as good as it gets.

Is it just me?????, by reados on Mar 8, 2008 11:00:02 GMT 1, since my last post i have just been having a look around on ebay etc, and the reason i think the prices are rising is just the fact that there are very few pieces available, only one pop tart on ebay, a couple of chi's while i was looking i checked out faile there is nothing much available by faile either.
The hype is still out there in general for street art but its all being bought up so prices are bound to rise as D Faces name is one which goes hand in hand with Micallef, Faile, Banksy etc.. irrespective of quality of work.
