Sorry but I think many of you are missing the point some what. D*face is a proper street artist which adam neate is not (leaving a few doodling's on the pavement does not count). I want to see proper criminal damage - not stuff that my mum wouldn't mind on her wall.

And if I can continue rather boringly, if you saw the lenticular your first reaction would be its awful but then it hits you, you realise its actually truly iconic.

hence the scramble for D*face and not neate. and so on and so forth, mutter blar blar

You're kidding right. Neate left hundreds and hundreds of his pieces on the street over the years - not a couple of doodlings. Besides which he is truly talented.

If you want a "genuine" street artist why not buy some sweet tooth stuff, he's done far more than Dface over the years...

I think that "mum wouldn't mind on her wall" quote hits the nail on the head, but very unintentionally. I think the point that it makes so well (allbeit unwittingly) is that Adam's work transends genre. Wherever he produces images and in whatever form, they tend to be very striking, rich and extremely original and yet still show off his own very distinctive style. The guy is an absolute f**king legend! The only thing I despise about all his work, is that it's way out of my financial reach! So what if my mother would like it (and she does love it by the way)!!!

Not only is his work so amazing, but he's questioned as much as anyone out there, the value and concept and meaning of art, including his own, by giving away countless pieces or even letting the elements destroy them. He's one of the most influencial artists of today imo and deserving of any and all praise and hype that might exist surrounding him. While I don't in any way wish to knock Dface, his work or his admirers, it's simply my belief that he should not be mentioned in the same breath or even thread. Maybe I should paint a target on my back and about face, but I just wanted to express that opinion. Surely there is no comparison in terms of talent? I know I'm not alone in this thought!

Any worthy artist has their own individual style and trying to work out who is the better between two of the major faces on the scene is impossible when it's based so much on personal taste. Quite honestly I'd rather have my collection grow in size than worth and hope that we have a slight dip in all prices over the coming months, so that a couple of pieces that are currently unobtainable become affordable again. I base my collection on artists whose work I've seen on the streets and can completely understand the rise in Dface's work. He's real.

well, i'd have said prices are on a SERIOUS rise! an A/P Cli Che' sold for £1,500 on ebay yesterday. All the Pop Tarts currently listed on ebay are over £1,000 a piece!

I think both side of this discussion are right ;D D*Face and Neate's work are very different, and mostly attract different sorts of people, with different tastes. If your trying to work out who is gonna become the biggest, as in being remembered for years to come for his art then I would say D* coz his images are more iconic. Im not say D*Faces work is better than Neates its just I think it more memorable.

The images DFace re-uses are ALREADY ICONIC therefore they are bound to be remembered!
I would like to see DFace create an original piece of his own work and see if that becomes Iconic. NOW THAT WOULD BE INTERESTING!!
