Even when they were $100 each for an edition of 12 they were still all handfinished.... You can't really blame faile for increasing the prices and edition sizes as they have become more popular. mr pez, you're right. i'm saying it because I'm sour and depress at the prices of rising Failes... (even at source!) whatever happened to art for the people??? i lurve it when FAILE add some LURVIN' to their prints...
Agreed - I do not think the prices should rise - just because of the market/ebay etc. Fans have to stretch to purchase and this takes away from the real hungry fan.
Use Banksy as an example - yes, he could sell as 1.5k a print or more and it would still sell out - but he is selling at £500. OK, people are flipping for the 'rich buyer' but what about the guy on the street.
I alway buy from source and hope this is a fair price - £500 for the confessions print was OK - but what happens if all the new stuff is £1k or over...yes it would sell out...but I don't think this is what is should be all about (wack up the price on originals no problems - but the print market should stay as the print market - how ever much you splatter the printed image).

we all know what happens when a hot artist starts to charge £1k per signed print for and ed of 400....

I understand the theory of supply/demand/economics - I am just saying its not what I expected from faile. Price jumps have happened, lets just keep them realistic.

On one photo it looks as though the blue part has been printed on top of the coffee drip (exhibit a) and on another it looks like the blue part hasn't quite taken properly - without that making it into a flaw or suchlike (exhibit b). The stars concealed in the white part is a great spot! I take back what I previously said about this print a few pages back - there's definitely a great deal more to it than first meets the eye!

as with the other Faile prints i have, looks even better in person. i love the paper they use too. has a weird feel and look to it that makes it seem almost canvas like.
looking forward to seeing what they release through the Faile site in a few weeks...

i was told that the paper was splashed with coffee, then painted with several layers of white acrylic with paint rollers, then a white silkscreen (probably the source of the stars) was laid down, then the blue, then the black. cool process. definitely more layering than a normal stock JPEG can show.
