Faile/FairQ Update, by Winter on Jul 2, 2008 13:13:41 GMT 1, i won raving mad, probably my least fave image.. holding out for a bunny girl
Why enter the lottery if you don't like it? It's possible (though I doubt it) that someone loves that print.

Faile/FairQ Update, by silvermyn on Jul 2, 2008 13:17:29 GMT 1, I wonder why they're doing the lottery in two lots. Don't suppose the first batch is for the "International" buyers and the second batch is for the "United States".
Just speculating as quite a few forum members seem to have got a print, myself included.

she bought the original of minator weapon, dont have a link, and not 100% sure on the price, but £190k springs to mind, or maybe $190k

Faile/FairQ Update, by angryboy on Jul 2, 2008 13:37:33 GMT 1, I think it may be split somehow. If you look on the Faile site at SOLIKF it says 12 available from an edition of 25. If I then look at it in My Qs it says there's 6 spots available.
This doesn't appear to be the case with all prints though.

Faile/FairQ Update, by graeme501 on Jul 2, 2008 13:41:23 GMT 1, maybe it is split between united states and international, that would make sense, because there seems to be a lot less available from the lottery than edition numbers
i guess faile would want some of their work to go2 the us market

Faile/FairQ Update, by robstar on Jul 2, 2008 13:45:23 GMT 1, Well done to everyone who has won so far. I entered quite a lot so am relieved to have won something, but maybe that's why i won? I was thinking if you enter more draws then surely you have more probability of becoming a winner no?? I'm actually relieved I won one of the cheaper options and the scuba horse is a hot print for sure.

Faile/FairQ Update, by pimp on Jul 2, 2008 13:48:30 GMT 1, for anyone who doesnt want theirs, their will be a fair few who do - and how many times have you read on here, that people wished they had pulled the trigger but didnt - hindsight is a kick in the nuts My suggestion would be to buy what you have been offered - at these low low prices, its a steal
you fucking clown
'low low prices' you sound as if you are seventeen and 'highonwax'
enjoy your faile (btw it cost 10 times less 18 months ago)

It would be interesting to know if anyone in the UK or Europe wins from the remaining lots. I think the second batch is drawn at 9pm UK time.

Faile/FairQ Update, by pimp on Jul 2, 2008 13:56:45 GMT 1, after reading a load of shite and drivel on this thread
let me stick up for the Faile lads. they do attempt to keep prices reasonable.. at the 2006 show preview (london) the likes of Bad Seed, Faile Mary and Faile Girl were ALL £150 even though they could have charged £500+ easily.
Also boxes started at 500 quid.
Do not be suprised if prints begin in the high hundreds, but not thousands, later this year.
enjoy your winnings if you got what you wanted, to those who entered EVERYTHING to win something to resell, go fuck yourselves!

How do you know the price of it wont boom in another 18 months time? With all the Laz inflated prices and their show coming up this might be deemed as good value in a year or two!

I can't believe I sat buying my POW Failes in 2005 not even thinking to look beyond and seeing what else they did and for how much.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing. I shall just have to pay $1,500 for my Bad Seed.
I also agree that the Patricks are reasonable with their pricing although they're getting slightly more pricy nowadays. Hardly surprising though as a Faile Varied edition, especially something like a SOLIKF, is a completey different kettle of fish to your average screenprint or litho.

She didn't buy it. She bought the two plackard angels and the fighting angels statue. The guy out of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers bought Improvised Minotaur which I think it was $280,000.
Minotaur Weapon sold in the first Laz show for £15,000 or less presumably to Damien Hirst who allegedly bought the whole show.

Agree with Pimp here. It's a bit depressing reading that someone should be buying just because it's Faile. There are some exceptional and some not so pieces. Everyone likes something different and some people don't like recent pieces at all - fair enough. However don't buy if you're not sure or you don't like it. Faile priced the pieces just bellow 'market value' and if you're hoping of making quick profit on them (like that fucker on ebay with Bad Seeds III) then go and F u C K yourself.

I don't like flippers - but if it is the only way someone might be able to pay for a print they really want then who are we to say the shouldn't. It was a lottery and we all had a fair chance of getting it. Lets stick to talking about the art ;D

Will see how it plays out for me tonight!
