Faile/FairQ Update, by robstar on Aug 28, 2008 13:17:05 GMT 1, Can I get some advice from you guys? Having thought about it, if I decide to sell my 3 Aikos, my Vhils and the BIN print, then I could actually end up keeping my Faile Forbidden Love Stencil after all and still pay off my credit cards to a point where they're not in such a big problem! What would you do if you had the choice? Keep 'Tender Forever' or keep 'Forbidden Love Stencil' Let me know before tonight as that's when I am relisting all my Ebay auctions! Cheers R.xx

Faile/FairQ Update, by robstar on Aug 28, 2008 13:20:26 GMT 1, Ah thanks GentleMental, yeah I think you are right - sorry I didn't see you had replied to my previous message as I hadn't updated my window...
Yeah I just had the same thought actually, as even if Tender Forever goes up in price I'm sure it won't rise too fast, so I might be able to afford buying it off Ebay in the future whereas I probably couldn't re-but a Stencil like Tender Forever as it's such a low edition (out of 9!)
And I will start my bid for Ebay for Tender Forever at £679.16 which is what I originally paid to Faile which should keep everyone happy and prove I'm not here to FLIPPPPPP!
So I think I have a new plan! Ebay have actually helped me out by cancelling my bids after all! Maybe it was meant to be.

Faile/FairQ Update, by robstar on Aug 28, 2008 13:27:35 GMT 1, I love them both... but I have to admit the hand touches on the Forbidden Love Stencil one is breathtaking and so exciting, and the fact it's a stencil is so cool, but I'd kind of already resigned myself to losing it! I seriously LOVE the Tender Forever, but even if I sell it now, I wouldn't mind paying £1,000 for it in the future if I had to, as it's beautiful so that might be a plan. Keep the Stencil and let the Tender one go... for now!

What he said. Providing you like that "print" (why are they called prints when it's basically hand stenciled and acrylic on fake-wood print?)

Faile/FairQ Update, by robstar on Aug 28, 2008 13:39:37 GMT 1, Yeah of course I do, it's lush in the flesh!
I also wondered why it's called a print, when it's really a Stencil over a wood print, the acrylic touches rule!!!
Can you explain the process? Do do they make the background screenprint first of wood look, then paint acrylic, then spray a stencil graffiti over the top? Is that how it's created?

Keep the Stencil and let the Tender one go... for now! Personally I'd keep the stencil as its close to an original and most likely irreplacable. There are enough Aikos, TFs and the like out there to be able to replace at a later date if you decide you cant live without it. I have been foolish enough to not hold onto several classic Faile over the years and still hoof myself firmly in love spuds every time I look back or see some of those older classics framed up. There is talk of Faile retiring alot of the old images, and bringing out some new, so it may well be your last chance to have and hold onto a limited classic piece.

Faile/FairQ Update, by robstar on Aug 28, 2008 13:50:41 GMT 1, Yes yes yes! You are right. The only Failes I ever had before were the unsigned bunny girl and captivating prints which I sold to a mate last year as I'd moved to a smaller flat so he paid me what I paid including the habitat frames! And I'm not upset about having sold those as they were unsigned and high editions, 600 I think, so if I ever really wanted those again I'd go for signed ones I think...
So yeah I'm gonna try and sell TF, 3 Aikos and Vhils and save my Stencil! I was really pissed off with Ebay yesterday, now I can thank them or the powers that be... I think it was meant to be...
Now I'll just have to save up to afford to frame the Faile stencil... eeeek!
x

why dont you get another creditcard on the never never..one of those 15 month no interest jobbies and transfer it all away...pay the minimum payments and keep the art (and watch it increase in price)...And open a high interest savings account for the 15 months to pay off the faile (£150 per month)

Faile/FairQ Update, by robstar on Aug 28, 2008 16:15:18 GMT 1, I wish! Sadly to keep domestic bliss I have to show I am selling something to make up for my overindulgent and 'selfish' spending habits! I madly love the Tender Forever one though, but I guess I will try to get it back next year on the 'bay... surely it must stay in my reach into the new year!

Robster, we all know you just 'WANT' cost for these so your mum doesn't ground you 'til Christmas, but you need to give the punters at least a little sniff of a possible deal. Drop your starting prices for christ's sake mate... This is going nowhere quickly!
Silky, can you change the title of this thread to "Robsters/FairQ Update"

Faile/FairQ Update, by robstar on Sept 7, 2008 18:30:42 GMT 1, Ha ha. you are a lot of fun Baler!
I sold my Vhils and my Faile Tender Forever on Ebay last week, so my life is a whole lot easier now. AND I got to keep my Forbidden Love Stencil, woohoo! The Tender Forever sold for something like £730 which was more than I expected.
If anyone wants the Aiko's just message me. I will only sell at price I paid, because even though Baler doesn't like the idea, I can't afford to sell them for any less.

Then you may well be sitting on them for some time. Sometimes the wisest decision is to sell at a slight loss now as further down the line they could well be worthless and as an image the Aiko's are pretty crap really - god only knows why you got 3! How would you have framed them all if you had not hit financial dire straights?

Faile/FairQ Update, by BONZO on Sept 8, 2008 8:52:13 GMT 1, I was merely offering some advice Robster, if my sarcastic comments upset you, or anyone else, I apologise.
But you set yourself up for it by investing out of your depth and by making some very poor (IMHO) print/flip choices. To then come onto a public forum and cry about it was embarrassing for us all, especially from a longstanding forum member such as yourself... Me thinks it's time to let this thread die now peeps, can we, please? It's all so July 2008!
