Sounds good - what's your address? I'll pop over tonight when you're tucked up in bed, cuddling your favourite teddy
You'd better pick up one of those prints as this time tomorrow it'll be your only Micallef ;D
ps. apologies for the delay in replying, just spent the last five minutes wretching at the thought of your balls

new print by antony micallef, by buffin on Sept 5, 2008 17:37:13 GMT 1, From the Curwen Studio website about original prints:
Many people think this might sound like a contradiction - original print. It is important to understand that the artist selects a medium to create their artwork, whether it is a choice of paints (oils, water colours etc.) or a choice of print medium (lithograph, etching etc.) โ each offers a different result.
What you should know is that the artist having made the choice then hand draws the image from which we print โ a different drawing for each colour, making use of overlap of colours to create additional colours if so desired โ it depends on the artist and how they like to work. This means that the print is the original, as it doesnโt exist in any other form. All materials from which we have made the print are destroyed on completion ensuring that it canโt be reprinted. The fact that there are a number of images in the edition doesnโt mean that there is any less originality in the image, also being hand printed there will be natural differences in each copy.
The artist is in full control of the printmaking process, selecting the paper on which we print and the colour of the inks used, hand mixed to their exact choice. All the materials used in making these prints are archival, ensuring that they will not fade over the years.
Make of that what you will.

Surprised you don't rate the Eyestorm prints. I'd rate them at least as good as the Laz editions of 50. Girl Tokyo is possibly his most underrated print. Irrespective, this is still a beautiful image.

new print by antony micallef, by Pattycakes on Sept 5, 2008 20:31:36 GMT 1, So to clear things up for everyone when they say hand drawn, they mean that Antony drew the design directly on the the matrix (in this case the stone) from which the image is then printed. Most of his other prints have come from a digital transfer process, effectively they photographed a drawing by him and then photomechanically trasferred that image onto the matrix for printing. The act of hand drawing a lithograph is complicated and so he's done a good job with this print. Most artist who produce lithographs produce hand drawn lithographs, the reason why Curwen mention that this one has been hand drawn is for the simple fact that all of Antony's other prints have been photomechanically made.

quiet understandable that no one wants to take a loss of $1000 overnight. but as they say if you cant afford to lose, then dont buy.
