I too would rather have a nice Rotella than a Faile. He's definitely the master of decollage. Without him there would be no Faile as we know them.
From what I can work out, Rotella prices are pretty varied. You can definitely pick up a pretty nice hand-torn, signed Rotella for the same price as a Faile. That includes some of the Marilyn pieces - if those are the ones that appeal. Though the pieces that are considered his real classics are incredibly expensive. I was really hopeful when I saw the prices on ebay that I'd find the ones I want at a price I can justify, but once I started making enquiries my hopes soon faded.
As for the ones on ebay, I'm sure most of them are genuine. Though it's difficult to asses when you've got little idea how many fakes are out there (if any).

As we are talking politically inspired collage work, I think I should mention Derek Shumate's stuff (artfortruth). This one is at at the Corey Gallery nyc and based on some quotes I got is probably about $1000. Although the stuff on his peronal site is alot cheaper (art for truth) His stuff is really growing on me!
