Honestly, not much but I'm sure they will moreso... it's not that I don't like them. Just thought they were the weakest in the show...
It helps that my girlfriend thinks they're class too

Adam Neate Show Pic's *SPOILER ALERT*New Pics 7/8, by finsburyparkranger on Aug 7, 2007 19:53:06 GMT 1, So whats the story with 'come on' and 'queens'. They are both hooligans but they have both been idealised in a spiritual and almost angelic manner. Whats Neate trying to say. He's almost empathising with them, no, glorifying them?

Sweet and tender hooligans, misunderstood saints who luv their mums and try and do what's best...looks like a still from a Ken Loach film. They do their best and love their country but their country doesn't love them. Let down not just by the team, but by the chianti swilling islington politico's. End of an era. Proud, down but not out ! Engerrrland Engerrrland. Brilliant work, by far my favourites ;D
*and spot on again Carlito about everyone being capable of feeling loss and pain

What he said...
No I do agree. That's how I read them. It's challenging when an artist tries empaphize with the mind with some socially 'less desirables' and mediate something from their perspective.

Adam Neate Show Pic's *SPOILER ALERT*New Pics 7/8, by artyfarty on Aug 7, 2007 23:12:28 GMT 1, I'm not a prolific poster by any means, but the sweet and tender hooligan post was a moving one. I guess he sees it every day off the Caledonian and Holloway Rd. It's a culture that's OK to shit on these days. Chav attack from all sides. Nice to see a different slant on it. Julie Burchill's the only one I've read who's pointed out how shite and easy it is to slag off the chavs. Nice one, Adam. Mozza would approve.

Adam Neate Show Pic's *SPOILER ALERT*New Pics 7/8, by verbalkint on Aug 8, 2007 1:52:19 GMT 1, Adam spent about half an hour explaining pieces to me, I asked him about 1 and then he told me about loads. Really interesting, i could listen to the bloke for hours. He was saying about 'the deep end' He was trying to draw someone apprehensive. He said its a big challenge to do it just with body lines which is the challenge he set himself which is why that image has no face, because the image doesnt need it (and the reflection of the face in the water is just staples). If you look at the figure it looks as if he is trying to push himself in, but at the same time he is pulling himself back, there is a conflict, he wants to take the plunge but something, maybe fear, is stopping him. In my opinion you can totally see it
in the bigger picture, the figure has had a piece of card removed and returned to the head, so its as if the man has been labotomised, which is how people are who watch 14 hours of TV a day. Also the torso is oversized to what any human body would be, Adam explained that is how you feel when you have been slouching infront of the tele for a couple of hours. He didnt realise the words in the gold leaf would be lost but all of the prints were 70% of the original sizes
just thought i would share a couple of them with you, some of the explanations were really interesting

Sorry about the reflections in the photo. There's a lot of natural light in the gallery and it's difficult to take good head on photos during the day.
