A great fun orignal piece from an established artist from the south-west...
Original 'Satellite and CCTV', Spray paint and acrylic on canvas,
20 inches by 16 inches
Adam Mclevey is based in Weston-super-Mare and is old enough to know better. He spends all day painting and drawing on anything that doesn’t get out of the way fast enough. His work often combines fine art details with a bold graffiti influences.
Lately, Mclevey has squirreled himself away in his studio, painting canvases for the Urban View group show at Bristol’s View Art Gallery, and for What Else Is New, his solo show at Toto’s Wine Bar in Bristol.
Mclevey’s done live painting at a number of events, and on a variety of surfaces around the South West. He’s making plans to cover a bit more of the world in paint this year, with one of his next stops being Upfest ’10.

Dan K, Snub and Nik are three of the best around imo mate, i'd get a lesson if i was involved so i'll keep to my spot with Pistol i think!
Gonna be a really good weekend for anyone debating coming, do. And come and see us and say hi, always good to meet peeps (plus i'm coming on my lonesome on the Friday night so if anyones around for a beer hit me up).

Danny O’Connor aka DOC is a Graphic Arts Graduate from Liverpool’s John Moores Art School. There is a strong graphic element visible in his paintings. With influences from Character Design, Comics, Illustration and Graffiti Art, all pulled together to create his stylised portraitures.
He uses a wide range of media to create his work from acrylics, spraypaint, ink and paint markers, to household paints such as gloss and emulsion. The result is visually striking paintings full of energy, often with expressive brush strokes and splashes of paint with an almost hypnotic appearance. The strong urban influences are reflected in the work he places on the street for passers by to view and take with them if they wish. The street application of the work adds fresh dimension to the paintings, bringing the characters in them to life and sharing his passion for his work with everyone.
Danny will be painting live at Upfest’10 or other examples of his work can be found at www.upfest.co.uk or at the Wilder Gallery in St Pauls, Bristol.

SPQR – Consuming and digesting images from contemporary sources, historical relics and from the endless mass constantly being pumped into the populations minds by the media. To rework, montage and collage, using stencils and spray techniques, images that attempt to dis empower and subvert the intent of the original.
