Banksy "Very Little Helps" Print, by veralynn on Apr 29, 2009 22:10:54 GMT 1, I think that to purchase at £350 and an offer at £1500 looks like a pretty good return on capital.
Additionally, I find it puzzling why such blatant profiteering from someone who's posted 6 times and has been a member for dick all time hasn't got shot down by the art police.
I attended this event, along with many others and entered this charity lottery for the chance to buy this print. Had I have done so then it would be up on the wall and I would enjoyed the print and my good fortune.
Am I alone in finding profiteering from essentially a charitable event a little distasteful?

Banksy "Very Little Helps" Print, by jrasbo on Apr 29, 2009 22:26:42 GMT 1, Am I alone in finding profiteering from essentially a charitable event a little distasteful?
So what is your take on Pictures on Walls at that said event? Yes they raised £24,406.61 for a worthy charity from the sales of the lottery tickets but what of all of their profiteering from the sales of this same print and all of the others they had for sale on those two days?
Would they not have raised in the region of £90,000 for the sales of these prints? Once they have given Banksy his cut paid the printers and the paper suppliers and paid any of their other overheads what do you think they did with the remainder?

Banksy "Very Little Helps" Print, by Sundowner on Apr 29, 2009 22:39:30 GMT 1, It's your print to do what you want with jrasbo. You were lucky enough to win a chance to buy this in the lottery and to be honest, anyone else in your position would have done the same thing.
No one b**ches and moans when people are trying to sell Banksy prints from 2004 for 50 x what they paid, so why are people complaining now?
I bet at least 2/3 of the VLHs are sitting in portfolios waiting for the tide to change so people can maximise their profit.
A print is only worth what people are prepared to pay and I believe £1,700 is a fair price in the current climate. Best of luck with the sale!

Banksy "Very Little Helps" Print, by junkieart on Apr 29, 2009 22:41:20 GMT 1, I also attended the event and entered the lottery but didn't win, thats life and I think jrasbo has a fair point, I personally think you do what you like it whether its a realise from 03 or 08, circumstances change and so do prices both positive and negative. Good luck with the sale, I think ebay may be the best option.

For goodness sake, get over it! What about those that have been selling their Gold Flags or special Trolleys from Santa's Ghetto in 2007, which were also for charity?
If it's never going to end up on your wall, sell it and buy something you really want that is.
BTW, nice framing Harveyn!

I'm not kissing his a**e, I'm making a point that if anyone was lucky enough to win this (or any other) print in a lottery that was worth this kind of money and it wasn't going to end up on their wall, then they'd probably do the same thing.
You don't know his circumstances and to be honest it sounds like you've had a dose of sour grapes etched!
To be honest, at least he's come on here and been upfront about what he wants for it (although I must admit I am still waiting for FX or Lampsy to wade in and tell the world it's worth 2p in the current climate).

Congratulations - another lucky punter! Just be happy that you were one of the chosen few. There are a lot of people on this forum that would love to have had the opportunity.
Are you hoonestly telling us that if you were planning to sell yours that you'd do it at cost?
