But it being in a frame suggests that it has had more light exposure than one that has been kept flat and covered in acid free paper, that's what I meant. I can verify the one I'm selling has a lower number though. Maybe that doesn't mean anything, maybe it does. Beauty in the eye of the beholder and all that. I seem to have inadvertently annoyed you by offering my print for sale at a price you don't want to pay. This was not my intention. I'm not trying to upset anyone but felt that my post had upset Highflyer and possibly others and wanted to state that it wasn't my intention. It seems like the polite thing to do if you've upset someone. That's all. I am not offended by people not wanting to buy this print, or offering ยฃ10,000. Let's face it, art is emotive, as is money. Therefore buying and selling art is a very emotive transaction. I'm just tryng to be polite as I navigate this minefield of emotions.

For the record seems like he's a little high but at least he's transparent, so go ahead and good luck. If it's the wrong price it won't sell, but maybe it becomes the right price. I don't think the numbering matters fuck all though. The print is either mint or not.

I'm not a massive user of ebay. While I have a score of 100% I've only bought and sold 82 items (look me up - ben22777). When I tried to post the ad I was advised that I can only sell up to ยฃ3,500 of items in a single month. Who knew? I guess the more you sell/buy on ebay, the higher the value you can trade. I'm no expert, probably someone on this forum can tell us more.

Increasingly buyers are buying images they like & want to frame/keep & often will pay the price to have a piece they KNOW is mint going forward
There are plenty of prints being sold as mint that are far below that standard - members here can attest to this, and name both galleries & private sellers, they have had very disappointing experience with. I've personally had to return 3 prints to sellers recently. I have frequently paid a little more for a print in perfect condition- I don't like stories about fading, framing, tape, handling creases etc.

If you dont like the price then you dont need to buy it. I havent liked the price of pretty much every print ive bought but it hasnt stopped me purchasing.

Just for completeness, the original buyer pulled out of the deal citing personal circumstances. Obviously things change and I have no problem with their decision. I have had 3 more offers for the same value, but when the initial buyer pulled out, I had second thoughts about selling and have decided to keep the print. this is down to two main reasons.
1 - I have borrowed some money that cover my immediate needs
2 - Not needing the money in the short term I believe the print will only go up in value.
Once again, I would genuinely like to thank all of you for taking an interest, posting messages to this thread and to all the PM's.

I've heard of supposedly conservation framed artworks being found to be nothing of the sort when the art was later removed from its frame. And of supposedly UV protective perspex failing to prevent significant fading of a very rare piece of memorabilia..

UV glass offers very little actual protection and your prints will always 100% still fade when exposed to direct sunlight. It is more effective for non natural light sources but ultimately just lengthens the time it takes for fading to occur.

Its a really well executed work and a brilliant concept but Tesco as a brand doesn't exactly have a global reach or resonance. Possibly stifling the discussion. The "Tesco" logo kind of pull me out of it as it just doesn't exist here (US). Not that the underlying meaning is lost of course.
