No Sacked, apparently Paypal hold funds for 21 days or until a positive feedback is left by the buyer, its a security precaution but i dont know why.

to get to speak to a real person on paypals telephone, if you say the word "Agent" then it transfers you to one. hope that helps you a little

Good luck getting your money anytime soon...they are so uncooperative and unwilling to listen that you might need to wait 180 days from the auction end date until you can actually get to it if they freeze your account.

I sold a pair of really high value sunglasses for a close friend which were won by a 0 feedback ebayer a few weeks ago. Somehow he managed to pay only half the amount stating he would pay the remainder when they arrived and refused to accept a non completion form when we cancelled his payment. Ultimately he seemed far too dodgy for us to trust, had no verified address/account details and we had already stated that we didn’t want to sell to people with 0 feedback along with only paying 50% of what they sold for! He was extremely abrupt saying they needed to be sent out asap...I have read too many horror stories on ebay to know this guy was as bent as a nine bob note.

Paypal have asked to see receipts for the item, a copy of my latest bank statement, my driving license and more even though the item never sold and my friend still has them in his possession. I have supplied them with all the relevant info minus receipts as the glasses were bought 2+ years ago and as such are long gone. My account was already pretty highly verified and i have 250+ perfectly fine transactions built up to my name up until this sale. I have explained this to paypal over the phone numerous times and offered to go and get them checked out in their London store to verify their authenticity along with the fact that i actually own them but paypal have said this isn’t good enough and until I find the nonexistent receipt have had my account permanently frozen. As such I can use ebay but not paypal. I won a printer and due to not being able to pay for it got my girlfriend to do so but paypal have now blocked her account...pure madness!

They are the most uncooperative, rude, bullish company I have ever dealt with yet due to their power with ebay/other internet sites I need my account working! Arghhhh...it stresses me out even thinking about it! Has anyone else had a similar situation or know how I can possibly get round this other than having rude call centre staff talking over me and refusing to put me through to someone of higher authority...Bastards

I'm another with long-running unresolved Paypal problems, because having changed country of residence a few times, they are too imcompetent to manage a SIMPLE CHANGE OF ADDRESS!!!! I must have spent a bloody fortune Skyping their call centres and speaking to poorly trained, semi-literate monkeys!!!!! I've never had the misfortune of speaking to anyone as incompetent as I've had the displeasure of contacting at Paypal HQ in Manila. Unreal and certainly not worth resolving! If on the odd occasion I need someone else to make or take a payment for me, that's a helluva lot easier than having to deal with Paypal! I also find most people and galleries happy to accept money via bank transfer or cheque if need be. All in all, I avoid Paypal whenever possible. Sadly the rest of the world uses it so every now and then I need to also.

Thanks all, the money was paid in the 30th April, so the 21 days is tomorrow. Hopefully something should happen then, thanks again!

Well at least paypal are very cheap to deal with concerning fees etc.

Paypal held my cash despite receiving positive feedback within 48 hours of the sale. They claimed as I set it up as a private auction, they would hold on to the money for 3 weeks, regardless of positive feedback! Incredible! After many phone calls and speaking to so called managers they decided to release my funds. However this was always bullshit so I had to keep phoning back. It took two weeks to sort. Can’t remember how many phone calls.

Paypal are utter c*nts. No other way of putting it.

Only advice I can give is try to stay calm on the phone and demand to speak to a manager immediately to save time.

I think the call centre is in the Philippines or something, so another technique is to claim you cant understand the accent (which in truth can be hard) so you get transferred to someone that can speak better English. 100% of the time this will be someone higher up.

I did this when I had problems with sky and their Indian call centre.

Dont take no for an answer, but dont get angry or swear. Just be firm and clear.

Money cleared this morning! thanks to everyone who helped calm my fears...just another week to wait until the pissing the money clears into my account
