First let me say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who's been so forthcoming with their help - My count is 10 so 'over the hump' as they used to say and fingers crossed the rest will come...passed on the good news to the kids at school & the trip is confirmed for July 10
COSTING: There's been some questions about the cost and appreciate the concern - it seemed expensive to me but I personally double-checked with our 'approved' list of Coach Company's plus a couple of others and really is £400-500
Plus as some always turn up without food or money they all get packed lunches to avoid any embarrassment
Standard train fare is a mouth-watering £25 each for the kids, £50 each for the 2 staff
***BUT***
Dug up a weird deal called 'Group Save 4' on the train & saved a chunk of money - bizarre pricing structure but a great option if anyone else is planning a group trip and it's an open ticket, more or less, so don't have to call the whole thing off if someone's late...
NEW SPONSORSHIP AMOUNT IS £14 - based on new total cost of £22 per pupil rather than £35
Letters/emails from the school confirming the trip and giving payment details will be sent out next week so could all sponsors please contact me by PM or email ( bel.email@virgin.net ) with an email contact address, or a postal address if you'd prefer a letter sent
Thanks again for making this possible - Sports day rained off today!! - so at least some of them had good news to take home for the weekend

Which is why I'm happy to say I have at least 16 sponsors now so a huge thank you to everyone who's contacted me...it's been a pleasure to experience so much goodwill and will I know make the trip even more special for all of us
I'll pass on your details to the school and they'll email confirmation next week (if you haven't already please PM with your email contact, or if you prefer not to disclose I'll forward the info via PM myself)
So again thank you to everyone involved and hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend

Banksy Bristol City Museum Show, by mred on Jun 28, 2009 12:41:25 GMT 1, Went to the show this morning, queue not that bad although arrived early (9:40am) and queue was getting longer as we waited. In by 10.20am, fact so many people crammed in I found detracted from whole experience for me, felt like an ant following lots of other ants. Once out of ground floor crowds thinned out although that said got a bit fed up with cocks and cockettes barging past to the Bankys to take photos. There are a lot of great pieces in the museum and at the risk of getting chucked off the forum quite a few are not by the local artist!!!!!
Hopefully get a chance to go back again when less people although that might be wishful thinking, Mr B a top man for putting show on but after awhile the joke wears a little thin although maybe it is the crowd that rumoured my sense of humour a little this morning.

While walking around the dinosaur section is spotted this
I think it must be a Banksy!! I took it down and will probably sell it on eBay for £1000's! If its not a realy Banksy maybe its a Not Banksy so will still be worth loads.
* A reference to Jimmy Carr, who I also saw there on Sat. I tried to take him home so I could eBay him but he wasnt having any of it
