I don't have any names, BUT an artist friend of mine has given me tips based on paper type, some are easier then others.
Do you know what type of paper it's on?

A while back I was given a name of someone who is supposed to be good in town. I have long forgotten the name though. I'd call super frame. I'm sure they will know and point you in the right direction, they are expensive but amazing. They are the only ones I'd trust to frame an expensive piece. They are also well connected with the art scene in Toronto so should know the good restorers.

Flattening Prints โข Creased, Folded, Rolled or Rippled , by beatztom on Apr 2, 2015 8:26:00 GMT 1, The post about humidifying a room makes perfect sense to me. After all when you flatten a shirt you steam iron it so I can see this process applying to prints. I suppose it's best to use the moisture with parsimony, but why not!

Hi Guys
My wife and I won/found this Dom Pattinson Zebra stencil during an art treasure hunt organised by the Zebra One gallery in Hampstead, London.
I plan to get it framed and hung in my landing, but as I removed it from its tube this afternoon I noticed that it's got a couple of prominent creases at the top and bottom - I'm not sure what is and isn't possible but thought I'd check on the forum if anyone has any suggestions for repairing or reducing the visibility of the creases before framing.
Cheers B

Thanks hubblebubble - that's really helpful.
It's reportedly worth a few grand so ยฃ100 doesn't seem unreasonable - will google Graham to find out more.

Not quite a couple of grands worth but still worried about ruining them. Distilled water, cotton ear buds, 2 sheets of greaseproof brown paper.. dab along the crease with a very little water.. iron on low.. increase as you go. Trial and error. Try it on other paper first :-) works a treat for low cost items.

When someone mentioned using an iron I thought they were joking!
What cinema posters do you have iamzero?

cut the crease out - be careful to follow the line of the crease either side ... I then use the magi-tape to stick the now two pieces of paper together - which is virtually invisible under certain light (night-time)*
* do not do this

Flattening Prints โข Creased, Folded, Rolled or Rippled , by Deleted on Jun 21, 2015 19:48:39 GMT 1, Brown paper and a iron definitely works as I have done it myself. Got the best results doing it on my pool table felt. Place brown paper on felt, then print and the next piece of paper. Doubt I'd try it on a print worth thousands though. Send it to Graham and let him do his magic!

Definitely a trick to bank for cheaper prints, but think it would be worth going to a professional for this particular piece.

Flattening Prints โข Creased, Folded, Rolled or Rippled , by RoboJ on Sept 16, 2015 15:22:37 GMT 1, Hi Guys
Ive recently been paying around ยฃ40 a piece just for TrueColour art glass that blocks 97%? of UV light. its fairly anti reflective but it is easy to tell there is glass and the reflections have a blue tint to them. I was wondering if there was any where that has a comparison of the different brands with maybe the same image in to see just how anti reflective these glasses are? How anti reflective are your framed pieces and is glass better than acrylic? I can buy the 'anti reflective' acrylic for around ยฃ16 a piece.

Flattening Prints โข Creased, Folded, Rolled or Rippled , by Denis Bloch Fine Art on Sept 29, 2015 20:01:19 GMT 1, Are you talking something like a reversible dry mount? Not conservation standards though at a guess. I suppose it's something like that but definitely not dry mounting, which would damage the print. I was told by my framer it is a glue of sorts that's thinly applied to the mount in a film and then when heated becomes attach/detachable, using a kind of heated vacuum. Some kind of new'ish method which eliminates wavy float mounted prints. I didn't end up using it as I was sceptical and would definitely do some more research before using this method. But it sounded very interesting in a geeky framer type of way. โฆand apparently it is safe and archival AHHH! Don't let any framer talk you into glue!
First there is no reason to fully mount or linen-back a print unless it is an extremely large piece that needs the extra support. The only prints I know of that really need this are the wall sized Toulouse Lautrec posters. Most contemporary prints at this size are on a thicker museum paper.
You should always mount your prints using acid-free photo corners if it is going to be under a matt. If you are going to float it all you need are a few pieces of acid-free hinging tape on the top and perhaps on the sides.
