Aesthetics aside, the image alone is a strong statement on what those residents lived through in their time of tragedy. Culturally and hedonistically, that town was (and is) among the handful of best US cities to visit imo. I look at her and remember what that city was just 10 years ago and can't help but think of those who could never return.  Personally, it reminds me of wonderful memories in that town against a backdrop of horror that I'm glad I never had to experience firsthand. She looks fantastic in numbers a la Warhol too as I had the pleasure of photographing once:



Which is not to suggest that I fancy it over RR as I love the rats for what they stand for, just stating why I think the attraction is obvious for many.

Hi Lee was that picture taken from a gallery or someone's house? I may be own my own but I have never seen the attraction of hanging 6 of the same print, I would hang one then sell 5 to buy one nice (all be it little banksy) original? When you mention Warhol it's like the owner saying a statement I have 10 warhols in a row on one wall - that's 10 x $100k etc. For me i think "it's just a financial my cock I bigger than yours statement".I like nola and RR but it would have o be RR for me as its one of his old classics. But i would take a signed barcode over them both

All I meant by Warhol in my previous comment was the art of repetition changing the impact upon the viewer. The art of repetition drove that artist mad and was clearly a reflection of his own personality including his collecting habits (habitual hoarder). He was certainly mental but to many of us there was a beauty in his absurdity and clearly his place is set in art history. For some it's too much and for others it's quite pleasant. It's all subjective anyway love or hate it.

to me it's the same as some folks with the CYW collections. Love the image but never been one for the repitition.

the repetition is not my think but it is interesting. Re the comments on the original  I am pretty sure you have thought of that etc. not my thing as it were but must say I also kinda like it. Never would or will do it but I can see the reason/concept. Should also add the Mrs would never let me!!!!!!

haha yeah, the galleries are calling for sure. Figure it was a decent price for both me and buyer. Would get more at a proper auction but i've such headaches with them in the past that i'd rather simplify things.
