Bast Opening Night, by eddiedangerous on Jan 24, 2008 23:25:21 GMT 1, Here are some snaps of the open night that in my mind, having seen his stuff at santas ghetto was rather disappointing, his work felt much more restrained than the work I have seen so far, the street pieces, the faile collabs, the prints...
supine was good, but I just wish there were more of basts stuff, and some more of the crazy vibe pieces like the smurfs...generally though I thought it was too reserved and there was simply just not enough works on show..the little that was on show was pretty amazing...
i guess we alll have to grow up sometime...

Love Bast's work, but I have to agree with eddie on this, there was not that many pieces on show and it felt a bit reserved. The prints downstairs were just blown up ad's from a newspapers i think.
Everything (Bar a few of of the rude girl canvases) were sold within a few minutes anyway.
Supine stuff was great as per usual.
The Corona was good.

You are right, it is so intricate and obviously brilliant, but the colours and the madness would be hard for my eyes. I'd like to see it in the flesh though.
