Received an email from the gallery earlier, these are $6250 a pop
'I need to remind everyone that this in NOT a screen print. These are original acrylic paintings on paper. Nick utilized stencil and freehand painting of background and details. These are in no way prints. Each piece, utilizes the base stencil and then worked by Nick'.

I think the price is on the heavy side, and were probably available for 20% of this 2 weeks ago. however in a market that is seeing bristol tma edition of 99 being sold for £2,500 and moona /125 for £1000 i think the price is in the right region currently.
edit; i wasnt first to reply, my bad

Nick Walker cant be too Careful ed.15, by mred on Feb 14, 2008 20:54:33 GMT 1, Thought $1500 was steep last October, so not sure then what I think of $6250.
I do not have a crystal ball so do not know whether a couple of months down the line $6250 will seem like a bargain or a expensive purchase.
Luckily I will not be buying for two reasons, do not have $6250 and if I did would be going after a London TMA and saving the rest for next TMA print.

Nick Walker cant be too Careful ed.15, by loucastel on Feb 14, 2008 21:49:29 GMT 1, Whether we are talking conspiracy theory's here or not I dont know, but Nicks work had been creeping up in price very slowly for a few weeks ,ever since the London TMA, then Bonhams, and it goes stratespheric, I for one dont really care which way the price goes as I would like to think I will have the enjoyment for many years to come, although if I am totally honest I did think about selling them for just a few moments (have got London and Bristol) then realised I didnt buy them to make money, as at the time they werent worth much more than I paid for them, I think the people who are selling them now are making a mistake as these could represent the beginning of a new era for this artist, who could go down in art history on the same page as Banksy. or could be another five minute wonder. but then again what do I know.

This is very true. The TMA prices were definitely on the rise days prior to the Bonhams auction.

Nick Walker cant be too Careful ed.15, by bond on Feb 14, 2008 21:57:07 GMT 1, Just got this mail back .................
We best be quick with the $ 6,250 then people !!
All canvas work is sold out.
I do have the Careful edition..see below.
Nick Walker's "Can't Be Too Careful" edition. In the wake of the Bonham's auction setting a record price for Nick's work and the sold out LA exhibition, the demand for Nick's work has been incredible.
At this time, there are only 6 remaining "Can't Be Too Careful" paintings. The following pieces remain.
6, 7, 9, 12, 13, and 14. see them here. www.randallscottgallery.com/nick_walker.html
I need to remind everyone that this in NOT a screen print. These are original acrylic paintings on paper. Nick utilized stencil and freehand painting of background and details. These are in no way prints. Each piece, utilizes the base stencil and then worked by Nick.
As a note, these pieces will become collectors items. It is unlikely that Nick will utilize the stencil again. This was a personal piece that Nick felt strongly about doing. It is not a pop cultural emblem. That alone, makes this edition stand out.
We have set the price at $6250 this price includes shipping and all VAT/import taxes. A COA will also be included.
With only 7 pieces available, demand will be high, so I suggest making your decisions quickly. We can secure a piece by credit card or wire transfer. We will not accept paypal.
Only one per person.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

Nick Walker cant be too Careful ed.15, by Art-el on Feb 14, 2008 22:07:58 GMT 1, Well it wasn't us!!
Everyone/Gallery to their own, but seeing threads like this makes us happy we stuck to our 'pre Bonhams' prices and sold out of Nicks work, hoping it would go to genuine fans of NW's work
Although it's amusing all of the the so called converted that were about to pull the trigger.
Anyone crying wolf like this shame on you. I'll quantify by saying by 'Anyone' I mean anyone who has been a member on here for 6 months plus.
The blokes been at it for two decades, has his own forum and has been touted (and rightly so) as a pioneer and undervalued in non monetary terms by many a member on here for over two years.
I know he know longer posts but Nuart summed it up a long time back when saying that if it hadn't been for Nicks work/enthusiasm/support that the Nuart festival probably wouldn't exist let alone be the success it is.
There are of course people out they're who were saving for or about to buy who must be well gutted.
85% of people clamouring are simply doing so because a print that 2-3 weeks a go was worth x and is now worth y!?
The betting industry call's it 'after-timeing'. People trying to sneak 'winning' bets on after the result is known.

That`s my point.
I'm fine with the Bonham's result. I bought all of my NW prints at original cost and really do not care about the actual prices. It's just funny seeing all those unsold / near cost prints on ebay selling 5x higher than 2 weeks ago. Must be alot new 'collectors' out there...

p.s., And "no", it wasn't all UK buyers as myself and several other people I know bought originals as well.

The one at $5k sold at the preview so you had to be there to get it.
Those have been on sale there forever! Too true, been around for ever at ~$1,500 and no interest, now suddenly big interest I wonder why...........
Although TMA's especially London had been going up in price, other prints were stationary, e.g. you could pick up a Apish Angel at less than cost easily, now over £300.
